3 Fix suggestion: How to fix foundations scouting, health bar visibility, and noisy movement

These three tips are going to fix the problem that ruins the gameplay of any player who needs to move in stealth as a strategy against the big clans that attack everything and everyone by killing the servers.

The main problem is the impossibility of being able to grow as you cannot hide from another player who, using these features in an “alternative” way, manages to find anyone anywhere.

  1. Foundations scouting
Everyone who plays on PVP servers knows what I mean, but for the uninitiated, it’s the way to use a foundation as a radar to find hidden bases, for example in trees or in a cave, or high up on the peak of a mountain etc.
I don’t think it was the developers’ intentions to provide hi-tech radar to players, to make the game impossible for small clans and solo players. The problem that follows is that when a large clan wants to prevent the growth of the little ones, it looks for them with this technique and within a maximum of three days cleans the server of all other small bases.

Partial solution: allow you to run with a foundation in hand only within your own claming area, with a certain delay from when it is detected or another limitation to prevent players from scouting by leaving foundations everywhere to be able to run.
Whatever the solution, this is certainly the main problem.

  1. The ability to see the health bar through walls not only completely eliminates any surprise attack technique and the possibility of hiding, but gives a variety of information to the enemy that in theory it could not have, such as how many thralls there are present within a base, and whether or not a player is present, as well as where how he is moving.
This feature should only work for short distances and absolutely never through walls or any obstacles, also because I don’t understand how it is possible to have certain information through walls.

Possible solution: Limit the range and for example make it possible only if the blueprint can successfully trace a line between the observer and the target, thus avoiding X-ray vision through walls.

  1. Finally, always at the expense of a type of gameplay such as it could be put into practice by a Zamorian thief, the continuous Hug Ah Mmm Um etc. warn other players of their presence, which contributes to make the surprise effect practically nil in this game.

Possible solution: to limit these vocal effects to extreme things, such as when falling from a certain height and taking some damage, and eliminate them from simple movements, or even limit them when wearing a certain armor such as the Zamorian one.

For the foundation, maybe if the game only allows you to slow walk when placing them. Another option could just be to make foundations heavy AF so unless you have enc 50 you cant run at all with them. I actually dont know why foundations are so light. Its convenient but it doesnt make sense.

Yes something like this, some limitation that doesn’t affect the building experience, but fix this issue

In practice, you wouldn’t need a foundation. You would get the same information trying to place a thrall or even a bedroll.

yes, the problem should be managed at the root, preventing the character from running when he is placing any object that reveals land claiming would already solve the problem without creating too many inconveniences. Then if a better solution is found it would be great.

Or only display the “land already claimed” message, when you try to place a foundation.

But oh well, we have a pick up system now, so they can just pick it up again…

This feature should only work for clanmates or when you have hit an enemy (HP bar visible for 30 seconds after you hit an enemy).

Yes, and the the pickup system adds a new way to misuse this function.
Before the PVP period, I can remove the doors and the frame and replace them with a wall or with foundation and foundation fence, greatly increasing the resistance of the structure to raids.

Well you don’t even need doors/gates at all anymore

Also the rebuilding is still an issue in the game. In Myth of Empires, when you place a building piece, it starts healing up from 1HP over time. So rebuilding is impossible in this game.

Yes and also limited to direct line of sight, for example it is possible to gas the thralls in the base, revealing their health points and movement.
This thing really should be fixed, I can miss all the thralls without even having a door knocked down!

Good points, all three!

Slow walking or no walking at all, on the block radar would be acceptable with me. It should be a server setting I think. Default to ON when PVP is set maybe?

Yeah, I too have noticed that health bars show through pretty much everything and can be seen for at least as far as a power arrow can fly. That’s fun in PVE to see if you can hit an animal 500 years out but prolly not a great feature of PVP. :stuck_out_tongue:

For thrall noises, maybe add that to the thrall emote options? Call it “Sneaky Pete”, “Silent Running” or something and it makes them whisper their ordinary vocalizations. For player noises I would think just crouching silences - so you have to be careful. I think a silent-kill or silent attack would be nice too: If you can approach a human thrall and get close enough without detection, (and with some special weapon) it’s a throat-cut with a small chance to one-hit weaker thralls - and another rnd to silence them as well - so they may turn to fight you but they won’t yell and only their weapon makes noise for some number of seconds.

Yes, I’m sure the first point can be solved with a server setting, so the PVP servers should have it enabled.

As for the noises I was referring to the character, every time the character climb emit a lot of noises, a truly exaggerated amount in any case. If the intent was to increase its immersion, in this way I think it’s too much, and in any case, if I want to act without being seen I don’t even have to be heard, let’s think of ninja making all those noises.
However, if the health bar problem is not resolved, the noises fade into the background …

All stealth features would be really fantastic, I mean the character can crouch so I think this is something devs would add, but unfortunately, they never add it :frowning:

Yes it would be very funny
I hope this is not another joke from the devs as for the yellow snow  Because it is preventing people to have fun unlike yellow snow, that remember me when I was eight and the ski instructor found some yellow snow on my ski boots lol
