1. New content will come to the bazzar. So what about the old content (old is the one we have now)? Will we be able to buy it after the new update?
  2. What exactly obolus will do?
  3. Ps4 will continue to be on the same shape and issues, or worst? (For this question I will beg the members that suffer these issues not to reply. They know the condition, I just dream for a Dev reply here. It’s useless to flame, it leads to absolute nowhere!)

Any way… predictions.

They’ll say there working on it, Just like last year around this time… well in a month or so. They take there long winter vacation and were left with a major broken game till next year.

The Season will end, and anyone one hoping for a working game to play thru Season 1, will miss out for not putting up with broken mess. XD

Or maybe they test it, Like REALLY test it… they’ll roll out a patch, It works Day 1. And all is Happy?

I mean if you wanna get a dev-reply then you have to poke some dev people  Right @den @AndyB ?
Even then they’ll ignore it unless you challenge them to a “I bet you’re not gonna reply to this”… cuz that gets things moving… doh!

Anyway :joy: they did mention that the game is being “held back” because they want to make it optimized enough to run on consoles so they’re constantly working on optimization for that…
Now at that point I was going to suggest in the stream that maybe they should drop the PS4 and other decade old consoles… but then I figured there’s quite a few areas where optimization is a bit sloppy so I better shut up and let them optimize away!!! If they drop the PS4 and get lazy with optimization then it’s going to run worse and worse on other platforms too :joy:

  1. The Ancient Obolus currency can be used at the Khitan Exile camps (the witch hunters) to buy the Armor of the Mad Prophet (nyi? on testlive), random Supply Packs (same as those dropped by bearers) and fully converted thralls.

My intention my dear friend is not to stop anyone, especially the ones that suffers my issues!
You lackily play on pc too, same as @prologue1337 and other friends I know. So you have a way to enjoy your game!
I don’t :pensive:.
I love official servers and I would love to play again normally!
I love single player and I would love to be able to connect on my exile lands map, but since the update I managed to connect five times, weeks now I can’t, I can only connect on Siptah map.
Ps4 suffers a lot of issues, a lot!
A new update means new data, more data, so I am afraid that this is it! I have a great fear that after the new update I won’t be able to play even in private servers :pensive:.
I am afraid @Sera67, that’s all!

Thanks a million . Do you know how I will farm obolus coins?

My dear friend @Xevyr I don’t want to bother them, they are extremely busy right now! Trust me, if we manage to keep it civil we stand a chance for reply .

Cyberpunk 2077, LotrO, Monster Hunter Rise, No Mans Sky and Elden Ring own my SSD. CE is backdrop to HDD. =/ So has gone unplayed in a long time.

Ps4 is mostly for CE(cause I own Siptah and most of DLC there) and Fallout 76.

I keep forgetting to look up what type of SSD plugs intoside of my MC case. (Its got 2 slots, and SSD is snapped into one)

Yep.

I kinda think your reaction is beneath you, to be honest. We have a console that we love, that is valid and supported by the manufacturer, that plays other games and even top-tier ones currently under active development very, very well. Prior to 3.0 we were blessed with relatively good gameplay for a blissful bit. It was stable, we could have fun, and we could continue to enjoy the console of our choosing.

It’s not dinosaurish to love and play previous-generation consoles: it’s actually in Sony’s business model moving forward. I can still enjoy my PS3 games like they originally played.

The trick is, they got to a point of what we used to call “Finished,” then said for example “The Hyperion Corporation informs you that Borderlands will no longer be updated for your playing environment!”

This is very much what players should be entitled to, barring any great achievements in playability with the next patch. If things are better and continue to be so, there may come a point when Funcom says “This is it. Only critical updates for the PS4.” That makes sense.

Sadly there’s no console TestLive. To avert this situation, we console players have no access to test versions of the game. I do understand the impossibility of extending that access to outside players like me unless via CLOUD usage/administered play, but I will again request we get more PS tester density.

Sorry, I did not elaborate  What I was going to ask in the devstream and actually typed up the message then ended up deleting before sending was if they plan to do an end-of-life release for them and then stop support afterwards… not just “drop it” as in ignore it.
Hope that makes it more clear.

But even thou the other part stands despite the joking presentation. I DO think that if they still strive to make their game run well on these even now, then there’s benefit from that for other platforms as well.
Because everybody here seems to think that there’s only bad things coming from that and that the game is being held back so much because of those old consoles - they don’t see the other side though that making it run on them will most likely improve performance on other platforms as well by a LOT.
However yea, there needs to be a stage where they jump to the next generation of consoles and sure enough! It’s nice if they consider doing either reduced “dumbed down” versions to some degree or just a really well polished end of life release.

Do you know how I will farm obolus coins?

Three main ways.

  1. You kill a sorceror and he’ll drop a Sorceror’s Skull. You take the skull to a witch hunter camp (there are at least 10 scattered throughout the Exiled Lands) and place it on the cooking pot looking altar.
  2. You knock out a sorceror and drag him to a witch hunter camp and place him in a cage there.
  3. You defeat one of Kurak’s lieutenants in a random event (haven’t found where they spawn yet) and they drop a Magi Skull. And same as above, you place it at the altar.

Also, you’ll get some Steelfire, Alchemical Base and Demon Blood besides your coins. So it’s a pretty good farm unless they change it.

Agreed. I feel as though zero testing was performed on either PlayStation console, PS4 especially. If it had been, many of the issues that plagued it (and some that still do), would have possibly been averted… or at least on their radar. Unfortunately, we got a lot of “please screenshot” or “please describe” for bugs and glitches that were quite obvious to anyone within minutes of playing the game. There should honestly be no excuses for this.

That would interest me too!

Then a kind of compulsion to buy would arise in order to own everything i don’t like today’s marketing strategies.

I know you’re exaggerating, just thought I’d get this in here. Sony is ridiculously “clean room stringent” about the quality of their patches, so there must be some testers associated.

It could be said that when dealing with professional quality testers, you need to provide evidence for how their team needs to improve itself. Forwarding these bits of provenance is very helpful, and encouraged. Sometimes the reports can even be graphed so they can know exactly when and where the issue popped up.

As someone working with a modern, mutating software deployment, I know that often you get ahead of yourself during the testing phase. You’re already testing the Patch, and neglecting the proposed Live. This can happen if resources are stretched thin. I have a lot of empathy for this process. However, PS4 is not a reliable 3.x port as yet.

Maybe it’s time to look for another main game, if i add up my expenses since the beginning of the bazaar, i could have bought 3 other games.

I’m a huge conan fan and i think i jumped on this buying trap :frowning:

It’s ok! You do it simply because you love the game! I am pretty sure you have thousands hours in this game too! All the gaming companies, are business companies and they seek profit!
There’s absolutely nothing wrong to this! I have faith in the origin of this company! Scandinavian companies love to match quality with prize! I believe that they do efforts to match! But some times, some things comes to an end! No matter the effort, everything ends eventually. I will understand if this is ps4 end, no matter if I don’t like it!
But you do nothing wrong my friend!

Going by the livestream:

Yes, they intend to keep the old ones in rotation. They will even have some of the rotations go by quicker to account for more items being available.

Buy stuff from specialized merchants. Thralls are even an option.

They’re working on it.

I think there is a recap coming that will have everything from the livestream. That’ll have more details.

While freezing console versions at some state may sound good, I don’t think its that simple. Why should we pc players (as a former ps4 player myself) get free content updates to a game that the consolers paid for as well? None of us here have the profit breakdown across pc vs consoles but I would guess that since consoles don’t have mods, they are viewed as the greater opportunity for the bazaar. If I was still playing on ps, and just when regular store items got released I was locked in a state of the game without sorcery, I would be torqued off to say the least. I am aware that consoles have been having issues and there are reasons why their patches take longer that I won’t get into, but Funcom I believe sees consoles as just as valuable as pc. I for one want consoles to have as good an experience as pc and I can’t speak for FC but I think they do too, if not moreso.

I may be exaggerating a bit, but given the absolute mess it was out the door on PS seems a bit ridiculous, even for what you’re describing. I’m certainly able to accept the occasional bugs, even game breaking ones under specific circumstances that may not have been caught very easily, but there were plenty of issues that were prevalent on the system immediately upon startup. It felt like an update that got pushed out the door without any consideration for the immediate impact on the player community and I know for a fact it wasn’t isolated instances either. After reading forum posts, Reddit posts, seeing and experiencing them first hand, playing with others that were having the same exact issues. There’s not much you can justify for all that, regardless of the testing and development process, regardless of how much you know about the process itself. Don’t get me wrong, I love this game as much the rest of you do, and I even work through it as best I can, but I’m not going to pretend when I see an entire fanbase getting the shaft due to lack of proper quality tests. It is that love for the game that makes me so critical.
