3 questions for the new update!

Ps4 will continue to be on the same shape and issues, or worst? (For this question I will beg the members that suffer these issues not to reply. They know the condition, I just dream for a Dev reply here. It’s useless to flame, it leads to absolute nowhere!)

I uninstalled Conan again last week, why do I keep reading these Forums? I am Still hoping for a stable End of Life Version of Conan that will not crash my machine, this is not a flame, just a vote.

Would I continue to spend $$ on Conan, of course!!, but not if every new content release destroys my stability and leads to yet another cycle of 30 minute slogs to recover body and thrall from another seemingly random freeze/crash/loss.

they did mention that the game is being “held back” because they want to make it optimized enough to run on consoles so they’re constantly working on optimization for that…
Now at that point I was going to suggest in the stream that maybe they should drop the PS4 and other decade old consoles… but then I figured there’s quite a few areas where optimization is a bit sloppy so I better shut up and let them optimize away!!! If they drop the PS4 and get lazy with optimization then it’s going to run worse and worse on other platforms too

As I tried to submit my PS4 issues, (screenshots, Bug Reports), lots of folks replied with “get a newer console, play on PC”… its not my fault guys. I’m playing the game I bought my PS4 to play. 2 years on and now I’m a relic, sorry I bought a console and 4 controllers over 2 years to play this, but now it keeps crashing since 3.0…

Lots of really patient Forums folks suggested ways to optimize my gameplay, clean my cache, rebuild my database, re-install etc.
But my reaction to each patch, each new release, FUNCOM says" look at this new content guys",
me: cool cool, so it’s going to perform worse again, because you added some stuff.

Ps4 suffers a lot of issues, a lot!
A new update means new data, more data, so I am afraid that this is it! I have a great fear that after the new update I won’t be able to play even in private servers .

I am truly grateful for the suggestions I have received along the way. I have done what I can on my part as a player. My clanmate is playing on his new PS5 now, and enjoying his game, but our clan is dead now.

I would love a stable version of Conan for PS4 someday. Would love to be able to play with the amazing people I have met. Right now we are looking at other games to play together. Conan Future Stability continues to be an issue. I have no reason to believe that even if stability is achieved as of yesterday’s patch, that that stability will not last past the very next update.

I feel as though zero testing was performed on either PlayStation console, PS4 especially. If it had been, many of the issues that plagued it (and some that still do), would have possibly been averted…

This is the feeling I am leaving with, and deserved or not, the feeling is real, and the only reason I am leaving this amazing game.
Thank you for your advice, and your patient and complete explanations to things that made me crazy over the past 60 days.

I understand your frustration. When I played ps4 we had an outage that lasted like a month where we couldn’t play (I don’t remember why, if it was my gportal server or the game itself). 3.0 was a massive structural change to the game that consoles are apparently having a hard time with. As to why you should stick around I would say, if its a game you love, keeping tabs on it to see when your issues are addressed would be totally worth it since I believe it will be fixed and then you’d know when its time for you to fire it up and enjoy it again.

Why should we pc players (as a former ps4 player myself) get free content updates to a game that the consolers paid for as well?

That does not apply in this case, since we were not talking about abandoning a console type… but rather a deprecated version of it. The same way the PC system requirements were different in 2017 and Playstation players are shifting over to PS5 (and to be fair if not for the market abuse and screwup on them to where consumers can’t get their hands on it, more than likely a much higher percentage of PS users would’ve switched over to PS5 by now.)

At the end of the day, while we can all make similar arguments for everything as to “why should this and that” happen when “this and that is happening”, technology is evolving and we either have a choice to move with it or be stuck and complain that we dislike it and have unrealistic expectations of wanting the devs to give us all the cake out of thin air and let us eat it too My point is, regardless of what I or anyone else says on some forums, there will come a time when they MUST make that choice if they wish to carry on developing this game, this is just inevitable… the big question though is how they’re going to deal with it… whether it’s going to be in a graceful manner like @Barnes have pointed out a few times or whether it’s going to be a dumpster fire

I feel you! Thank you for keeping it civil. We both know we don’t need to use hyperbole, what we experience the last 2 months was hyperbolic enough to create frustration! We know it and they know it too, very well!

@darthphysicist you are so correct! When the ps5 console started to go on market I could buy it on a heartbeat, without second thoughts. I can even buy it now, but I am afraid of what this winter may bring and I don’t want to “risk” 500 € for my gaming right now.

I would only say that its Funcom’s choice to stick with the consoles. As of today, they are “supported” and CE is sold on them.

Taemien I need your help please! Yesterday night I erased everything on an alternative account that I have on my console and started a totally new session! I connected perfectly on my Single player exile lands and the 2 hours I played I had a few lags only, nothing else, no crushes, just a few invisible enemies but nothing great, generally almost a satisfying gaming experience!
Ofcurce this criticism comes compared to all the previous years.
Why I cannot connect in my own account?
These are some informations I can give about my main account single player!
1st overbuilded
2nd many glitch tests and usage on some buildings (they are contest builds)
3rd I have triggered no ownership
4rth my character is mainly God, cloak.
5th I believe I have about 100 thralls around the map
6th about 20 temples tier 3 around the map
7nth recently I fixed two builds using creative mode.

Do you see any reason I can’t play on my account?

I don’t know how consoles handle accounts. Steam PC version of the game handles it by steamID. We also need the game purchased on every account we play on unless we use Family Share, in which you can only connect to servers that allow for that. Singleplayer also works because it is saved in a location not related to the steam account.

Forgive my English, I am really sorry! I can’t log in on exile lands map single player, I can log in on Siptah (I have just one build there) and ofcurce to all the other sessions I play.
My problem comes only to my single player exile lands map.

Are you saying you go into your master PSN, and try to play Single Player Exiled Lands and it goes into “perpetual loading” screen?

Let me take this opportunity to add: going forward, console needs an easy way to back up, verify and restore game databases.

I pay psn membership on my sons account. I have my bank account connected and they receive 8,99 every month. You’ll tell me, why the heck you don’t pay the year offering that sometimes is almost 50 €! I am lazy .
Every machine needs one psn account to play online to all the others. I see no reason to pay a second for me .

Not to mention that my son has to play from August, he reads for his national exams, I beg him to play and relax a bit, but he says no… (I believe most parents suffer the exact opposite ). So I don’t believe that this has to do with psn account, I joined my daughters account as I explained above and I play normally!

On my account I can play Siptah on single player, just not exile lands! On line I can play literally everywhere, but I suffer crush issues on official servers and ofcurce all the other performance issues my console has these days.
I enjoy the game only online when it’s low populated, but not on official servers ofcurce.
I enjoy the game when I fresh start and delete all my previous work on single player!

I have to pay for two myself, so I get them annually in bulk whenever offered on sale.

Since this is a brand-new occurrence, I assume you haven’t tried this yet. If you can’t access Exiled Lands via SP, try to connect to an EL online server and see if it loads.

I enjoy the game only online when it’s low populated, but not on official servers ofcurce.

I can connect to all the online servers, both Siptah and exile lands.
Except if you mean to connect on my Single player by coop

I notice the Plus is on your son’s account in the login screen. Is it possible you have delegated the console to him or another account?

While logged on as your account: Go to Settings | User and Acct | Others → Console Sharing. Is it set as your Primary Device?

#2 With Plus you have access to Cloud Saves. We may be able to go back to that if we’re unsuccessful.

#3 If unsuccessful with #2, we should still be able to go back to what was migrated from your PS4, since that was only in September.

I will follow these steps, but first look!
I try to join my single player on exile lands and I get the everlasting bar…

I turn off the game and I ask to go online as you said…

I connect normally!
Ofcurce I have no issues to connect in Siptah single player too

Then again, I log in in my daughters account that yesterday I deleted everything from this account and started a new character (I use this account for training ground to my challenges , so it had nothing special to delete) …

I played 2 hours yesterday without issues

Great follow up.

This means your game is fine. It loads Siptah SP and MP, and Exiled Lands MP. Just no Single Player.

In other words, your Game.DB file (the one specific to you) is not working properly. We need to either fix it, or restore it from a time when it was working.

First though, check to see if you are set to owner of console, and if you are, toggle it to another temporarily and then set it back to you as owner. This is the simplest, most elegant way of forcing the PS into a savegame verification subroutine.

I test 5 times and I can connect so damn fast now , less than 30 seconds, this is speedlight connection for single player, now I will start a new challenge to wash my empathy … Lol!
