I don’t know if I’m at the right place, but I’m going for it anyways. I’m pretty new to the game but it looks wonderful so far, with tons of content for a survival game (almost looks like a MMO imo), cool combat mechanics and challenging difficulty, espectially for solo - maybe a little too much farming and time to spend that I have available
One of the coolest things about this game are thralls and pets. The current problem with pets is that they are impossible to heal efficiently - or maybe there is a way I am not aware of - and don’t provide much compared to t3 or t4 thrall with gear. It would be so cool if we could ride specific kinds of pets, like hyena, boar, bear, wolf, sabertooth, etc (the animal ones). Although I know a mounts update is coming soon, I only saw horses in the trailer tho, which is not really necessary imo given the amount of content we already have ! Just a saddle mechanic and the ability to ride pets would be enough for me but maybe that’s planned with the update, fingers crossed !
No one can ride cats, dogs and all the other carnivores without some strong magic: those animals have very weak backs IRL, so I’m strongly against riding them if it’s not in some fantasy environment with elves and dwarves. Not for the Exile lands. But you can ride elephants and rhynos (IF they agree of course), so I’m waiting for some special battle rhyno or elephant some day.
Are you sure about that ? If you add a common saddle prefab, a ride animation, couple the pet’s movement with the player (or not, depending on how difficult you want it to be ) and disable pet’s AI during riding, I think it can be done with few additions to the game ! But of course maybe I’m mistaking, it must probably be way more complicated than that. I will be happy with horses !
Just remember that developping a game is not all about coding There is a massive part about gameplay design, balance, graphics, animations, all that stuff !
I don’t think realism is a point here, I’m pretty sure you can’t tame hyenas IRL and a lot of the game’s stuff is not realistic anyways - because it’s a game !
Please no. Camels and horses… Thats enough. Conan Universe is so unique and awesome because it roots in realism with fantasy aspects, not the other way around. Don’t make it a stereotypical Fantasy MMO… there is enough of those out there and allowing to ride spiders and wolves would take it one step further towards that.
In the game aloe arrows are called healing arrows. I don’t think they work for pets. I used one on my white tiger and he run straight to attack Rotbranch in the Circle of swords. And died because he was very low on HP, that’s why I wanted to heal him.
