Would it be possible to add different types of purges that are more suitable to different type terrains and locations?
The way it is now, the purge requires a significant amount of land to build a Basecamp near your base. This limits purges a lot, considering you can build just about anywhere, including vertically.
So it would make sense to have various types of purges that can be applied.
Ex. Portals, random spawn like the maelstrom, aerial purge, giant entities, etc..
Just things that can spawn or at least have a smaller footprint to spawn ( portals) than a Basecamp which not always can find a suitable location. I can’t summon the Purge on half of my bases as it now.
The old purge was Thoth Amon sending violent forces to demolish your base and (theoretically) steal magical artifacts you had recovered in your adventures. Thoth Amon could send any bands of marauders, monsters, or demonic entities because he was a powerful and influential sorcerer who controls the Exiled Lands. Thoth Amon does not care about your treasure hoard because magical artifacts are more valuable than gold.
The new purge is King Ctesphon sending his army to loot your wealth to fund his kingdom. Ctesphon would not send monsters and demons, he sends stygian soldiers and slaves because that is his army. King Ctesphon does not care about merely demolishing your base because his only goal is to get your gold.
It is unfortunate the the new purge completely replaced the old purge. The two purges could have existed simultaneously as proven by Xevyr’s Purge Mod that reimplements the old purge while in no way affecting the new purge. His mod would probably offer something close to what you desire, but… you are a console user.
I don’t really understand or care for the foul remarks. I’m just trying to play the game and have fun. I’m a solo player, i don’t play online as much anymore.
I’m bringing up a very legit concern about how the Purge cannot be summoned in many places do to the physical constraints of a basecamp.
