I enjoy the sorcery system, but it got me thinking. While sorcery is properly evil in accordance within the theme of the sword and sorcery genre, what about those that benefit indirectly from sorcery? It would be interesting for sorcerers of sufficient corruption, knowledge, and power to be able to create rare components that are extremely useful for non-sorcerers, but require their services. I am of course looking more at the lore aspect and not any specific mechanics. Imagine the foul integration of sorcery to the game’s economy and advancement. Indeed, it might even be interesting to incentivize non-sorcerers to be complicit with those actions of sorcerers and actively assist sorcerers for some kind of reward. There could even be more resource creation (think rocknose pets, but maybe more efficient?) alternatives (like brimstone), if others allowed themselves to be corrupted by the sorcerer.
I was doing some sacrificing yesterday and found myself with less than 200hp and about 80 Stamina. Things were getting spicy trying to knock out people for their blood and souls.
Having a non-sorcerer bringing them in would have sped up the process and not put my fragile sorcerer in danger.
