Adjustable lighting

An ability to adjust lighting across all platforms and sources. Or disable it, for that matter. My suggestion isn’t a new one. However, I feel it’s a valid one. Whether you want to brighten the place up and allow the player’s personal lightbringer soul to shine so bright it blinds the actual player, or you want to dull all light and live in darkness, I feel it would be beneficial to add sliders for brightness and lighting effects. Whether this is done in game via an interact on each light source, or in the settings menu.

Both the ‘brightness’ and ‘gamma’ settings (in game) will do almost precisely what you’re describing, maybe you should give them a try.

No, it won’t. brightness and gamma are not the same as individual light sources in game.

I miss-understood. When you said “…in the settings menu.” I thought you meant for all sources. You’re suggesting Funcom add a slider to every single light source in the game?! Good luck. I think it’s fine as it is, maybe the personal glow of the character itself could stand to be adjustable though.

BTW ~ If you take your game gamma down a few points (from the default 2.2), to 2.1 or 2.0, it may still accomplish what you’re trying to do. Give it a shot, I run my game gamma at 1.9 because my monitor is super bright. The character glow is barely noticeable.

No worries. The main culprits I see in game are the players aura light, and the dimness of the candles. I’ve tried brightness, but not gamma. I’ll see. Thanks for the suggestion.

Re-read my original post. I didn’t make it sound the way you say. Yes, I’m meaning sliders for the light source themselves. Not just game brightness in general.
