Age 2 Prediction: Age of Gods

I could be wrong, but that jade object almost looks like a dragon. And the item on the lower left looks like a weapon handle.

Just my two cents. :grinning:

@den just commented that it is a building set :eyes:

Excellent find, I rarely read replies and never use twitter so I would have missed that for sure. Puts to rest needing to figure out where the image is, and now my wallet is fearful

I am not sure about the Conan lore on this. Both Greek and Roman mythology had stories about Amazons. A fierce group of female warriors. In Africa, a nation long gone became an empire. Their fiercest warriors were women. Looking at the chest, I will say, hide your gold.

I am still 100% sure the amazon thing is a joke. I do not expect anything to do with it being in the update. Real-world history has next to no bearing on the lore, as the hyborian takes place pre-ice age before the existence of any culture. Age of the Amazon makes as much sense chronologically as Age of the American and them adding cheeseburgers and guns

Chests and bags of treasure? Ancient masks of dead queens and bejeweled artifacts? I’m throwing out Age of the Tomb Raider to make Jim mad.

Loot could be related to Bel, the god of thieves, who has been considered for addition to the game before, so none of these teasers exclude the next Age being one of religion.

I agree and will add - come on people. Do you really think they’d put it in something so obvious and with the image quality equal to a page that looks like it was for something circa mid-00’s Second Life?

Even their jokes have the level of quality that their art department normally puts out. The herring is so red it may as well be singing the soviet anthem.

After looking at it again, I do see it as a jade and gold horn.

This one is reminded of a song…

Hush, child, the darkness will rise from the deep
And carry you down into sleep
Hush, child, the darkness will rise from the deep
And carry you down into sleep
Guileless Son, I’ll shape your belief
And you’ll always know that your father’s a thief
And you won’t understand the cause of your grief
But you’ll always follow the voices beneath

That aside, this one’s hope for Dagon (and possibly more Lemurian content as that fancy cat looks a lot like the items scattered around the Pagoda) does not seem as utterly far fetched as it often does…

Of course, whoever called Age of Piracy may be preemptively doing a victory dance…
Possibly premature, but the signs look good.

The tweet sounds purge-related. Maybe a reworking of the purge system in an ā€œAge of Warā€? Would be nice imho.

I’m not sure, but this looks like some kind of treasure hunting. Maybe underwater treasure hunting with some hostile creatures thats guards them?

Yes… murlocs :stuck_out_tongue:

What are the lore ramifications of giving jimbo a brain aneurysm?

Look up ā€œThe Vale of Lost Womenā€. It’s a short story by Robert E Howard depicting an amazon-like tribe of women.

*edit - There’s also an Amazon Surge in Isle of Siptah.

Love me some Heather Dale

I still hope it’ll be the Age of Gods, despite all the hints.

I really hope the Tweet comment about ā€œThey will not relentā€ hints at a revamp and upgrade of the Purge mechanic. That would be awesome!

On mobile, but got a crusty 480p look at the cureent teaser over on https://www.twitch.tv/jordeekai

Looks like a battle planning table from first glance. I’ll have to get my hands on the high res image once it drops, but a table like that adds even more questions than some treasure piles did

My confidence in it being about religion has dropped from 80% to ~40%. May rebrand the thread if the remaining teasers go in this direction

I wouldn’t put too much value in the teasers. The lootbag, chest, warhorn, game table, etc. could just be new placeables in the battle pass and/or bazaar. They do not necessarily have a lot to do with the Age’s theme.
