Is there anyone who could write a detailed summary of the plot, the base game, and the Rise of Godslayer expansion?
I’d love to read the entire plot, clarify many things I’ve missed over the years, from level 1 to level 80, and the comparison with the Grim Grey God (I’ve never figured out what he is).
And then move on to the Khitai, the attack on Conan, the Entity, etc. (For example, I know who the Entity is; I’ve read The Tower of the Elephant and I’ve caught the references to Yag-Kosha, but I’ve never understood what he wants from Conan.)
I believe that the Grim Grey God in the game is loosely based off of a 1996 novel. Conan and the Grim Grey God. Iirc it’s just an ancient evil artifact full of mystical properties. That seems to be in line with what we kinda see in the game.
Thank you so much for the input! To be honest, I was secretly hoping for a bit more deep lore-crafting and a closer look at the plot details from other story enthusiasts, but what you’ve suggested is definitely a good starting point. Thanks again!
On the whole there’s isn’t one plot throughout outside the Destiny Quest line and that has you gathering up the pieces of an amulet to ‘free your soul’, then for the various side quests you’ll see bits and pieces of various Conan stories scattered through out like the Pool of the Black One’s, but none of it’s really step by step from the stories.
The tightest plot line is in the Cimmerian part where the regions are linked together. Stygia’s are pretty much all separate with with some carry over from Khemi to Khop. Providence, but Khettea is pretty much stand alone.
Tant has carry over from into the Noble District, but not so much for the other regions.
I think the term ‘based on a concept from the novel’ fits. Same goes for the NPC’s, a lot are from various stories, but not always in the manner from the books.
There used to be story write up’s for the various class archtypes quest lines while Tortage. You might find those if you google search hard enough.
Thanks for the reply, to be honest it’s exactly what I was looking for but explained in a more detailed way, namely the Destiny (1-80, Strom, the medallion etc. etc.) and the Khitai main quest (the one from Conan, to make contact in Khitai to figure out who tried to assassinate him). I realize by myself that finding the plot of individual regions becomes truly prohibitive, it would be enough for me to understand (without having to roll a new level 1 character just for this) greater detail and clarity of the aforementioned two chains (destiny + khitai).
