This is for PS5 on a private server:
Maybe it happened before the last patch, but I just noticed that the very large tree just east of The Passage in the swamp (on the edge of the no-build zone) now has random sections of it that aren’t buildable that were buildable before. For the last few years my base has been built on it with no problem, including many of the branches and the main trunk.
While expanding to make a tavern in a section where I already had foundations and architecture, it will no longer allow me to attach foundations or columns to certain sections of the thick branches or the trunk. Ceiling pieces I removed cannot be replaced. The “no build” sections are only a few foundations wide and building can continue on either side of them, however I now have large holes I can’t fill in. Any existing building in that area that I didn’t alter now no longer allows an object to be placed in those zones citing that “Building here will block your spawn point” even though I don’t have a bed any where near that area. Objects of any type can’t be placed there or moved into that area.
On the main trunk, I placed the new Yamtai lantern on a foundation and it instantly exploded the front off of the attached building saying there was a clipping issue or something. Now I can’t rebuild it, although the areas built around it are fine and accept foundations and columns. I tested various section of branches and trunk with columns and foundation pieces and they’ll be mostly green with no problem of attaching and then switch to white for a small section and then back to green.
I thought this might be because it’s so close to the no-build zone, but I’ve never had issues with it before and my base has been around for a while. To check, I changed the server settings to allow building everywhere and that didn’t change anything and there are still spaces on the tree which can’t be developed. After breaking sections of my base that I can’t rebuild, I’m now worried about moving anything since I’ll never be able to replace things there. Since I was renovating, I only found this out after emptying areas and not being able to refill them.
Anyway, just reporting the bug, hopefully it can be fixed!
