Part 1 - Tiers for Players/Characters
Tiers are there for NPCs/Thralls, but what if it exists for players too. I think it will negate the issue of players having no direction to go (in regard to allocating attributes) after they maxed out their attributes.
I mean, I got somewhat less enthusiastic after getting all the attributes maxed out. I mean when I accessed the UI, there’s a whole tab that is not needed making it feel like I’m dragging on or something.
Points to Consider:
-
After players maxed out their attributes they can “Consolidate” or “Promote” themselves into the next tier. But this comes with a repercussion that users will only retain half the number of maximum attribute points for each stat as minimum. (For example, after promoting in Tier, if the maximum amount of attribute points for a stat is 20 after the promotion one won’t get any less than 10 for that stat.) The other attribute points may retain will be based on things like user’s activity related that particular attribute. (For example, large number of kills by an Agility weapon may contribute to make the beginner Agility stat at the new tier getting more points.)
-
If a player allocated his points in attributes in certain quantities, he may get a Class when he get promoted. This feature can be set to be self-exploratory and should add permanent buffs after the class acquisition. It will make the players more curious about the Classes they may get. (Here classes mean like Warrior, Mage, Battlemage, Magic Warrior, Defender, Guardian etc.) Classes mostly classifies the Combat aspect of the player or character. You can make tiers in these Classes too. With titles. (For example [Class: Tier 1 Mage/ Title: Acolyte] etc) It will add some more info to the desolate stat Tab as well.
-
This system will work along with “Part 2 - Tiered Maps with Tiered Enemies” and “Part 3 -Tiered Profession System.”
-
You could make it more diverse with adding “Corrupted Stats” as well. Oh, so many possibilities to explore. So many “Classes” to discover.
-
Not to mention each “Class” adds permanent buffs that may get better with the tier of the class.
-
I would really like if there can be more diverse “Traits” when a player advanced in Tiers if possible.
-
Levels should mostly be an indicator of how much a player had experienced in the game. Basically, more the player levels up, more will he be able to promote to more higher tiers.
(For example, Tier 1 → Level 1-120, Tier 2 → Level 121-240, Tier 3 → Level 241-360, Tier 4 → Level 361-480, Tier 5 → Level 481-600, etc.)
-
I have to stress that: for “Promotion” players should not be needed to max out all their Stats to their maximum value. Because it would be contradictory with the “Class” formation idea I mentioned. (For example, It could be like if you have maxed out at least three stats you could Tier up/get promoted)
Part 2 - Tiered Maps with Tiered Enemies
After exploring every nook and cranny in the Exiled Lands, one may get bored. That’s why the DEVs and Modders actively makes new enemies as well as new Maps to alleviate this issue. What if we change the approach? What if the Maps were also tiered with enemies with different difficulty levels were found in different Maps. These Maps will be of different Tiers obviously.
Points To Consider:
-
With having Exiled Lands as a common Map or a Tier 1 Map (personally I recommend Exiled Lands becoming a Tier 1 Map with Tier 1 enemies so that there will be new possibilities for Future Maps and their inhabitants (NPCs/monsters).
-
Condition can be made that Players can only access higher tiered maps only after a successful promotion to the corresponding tier.
-
Server Issues that may occur (I don’t have many ideas on this aspect as I have little to no knowledge in server management, so I hope all of you who’s interested in this idea can pitch in if you have knowledge on this aspect and can offer solutions.
-
There should be certain limitation for the Admins so that they can only spawn monsters/NPCs of the Tier of the map. It would be best if there’s a correction system that adjust the health, defense, etc. of the enemies of the Tiered Map according to the map’s Tier.
-
Modders can add their own content to the Map they build and build connections with the main Map to create a whole new story of whole new characters. For example, if a Modder decided to take Exiled Land as a non-tiered map, he can put certain NPCs there who have ties with different Maps they have built. These NPCs’ journeys could also be added to the Journey Tab as well. (See the Part 3 - 4th Point to Consider)
-
Modders could use this system to build a masterpiece storyline within the original game.
Part 3 -Tiered Profession System
I felt some wasted potential in Journey System in Conan Exiles Age of War Chapter. Why? Because a “Carpenter” can be so much more than a mere Journey Chapter. If it is separated to be a Profession and each player having the ability to acquire a set number of profession, and each profession gives buffs regarding certain crafting element in the game. (For example, a player who has Tier 3 Carpenter profession may encounter huge buffs to the arrows he/she made using the Carpenter bench when compared to an ordinary Tier 1 Carpenter)
Points to Consider
-
This goes in line with the Tier Concept.
-
This will make the value of a player much higher if he has a certain profession in a very higher tier.
-
And if the high tiered profession player has a low-level, higher-level player can party up with him and level him up.
-
Journey system should be there, only as a hub for ‘Journeys’ in my opinion. For example, if there were Journeys of certain characters like ‘Razma of Shem’ as Journey chapters and the player have to explore the map to find clues to find about that character’s journey in the story. You’ll have no idea how many journey steps there in each character’s journey until you discover up to the last clue, be it a document or a Note etc.
-
So, in overall these should be two separate tabs, or two separate mini tabs under Journey? I have my opinion divided on this.
This was a random thought I got while playing the game and I thought it should be shared with all of you.
So, that’s it! I eagerly wait for your opinions.
