Any word of UE5 for console yet?

Just as the title asks?

I see that UE5 has gotten a new update fore upgrading legendaries and a new dungeon….. kinda feeling really betrayed, hurt, and left behind….. been playing this game since 2017 (since jump street..), bought every dlc, and have almost all cosmetics in the shop….

just wondering when the rest of us will get to enjoy the unwanted hand-me-downs of pc favourites?

The most recent comment on the subject is here - basically a ‘still no decision, but not ruling it out’ statement.

For what it’s worth, there’s still a ton of bugs and problems with the UE5 upgrade. In theory, they would not want to transfer across to other platforms until it is more stable (because it takes a lot of extra time and money to get through certification, so they don’t want to have to keep putting out hotfixes that each have to be certified). The problem with that is they are putting out new content instead of focusing on fixing and polishing so that it could be ready to port across.

I’d prefer it if they focused on the fixes and got everything ready (then they could port) before moving on to adding new content. But this is a lot like the ‘Ages’ where they kept pumping out new content without fixing what was broken by the previous attempt until they eventually had to abandon everything and (supposedly) focus on just fixing stuff. The problem is twofold - a) that means a worse experience for players who have got the UE5 version because it’s unlikely to receive enough focus on fixes, and b) that makes it less likely they can port across for other platforms because they keep adding more bugs and not fixing enough of the old ones so the game may never get into a stable enough state to port…

It is understandable that console players feel let down and left behind. and the occasional (largely empty) statements that ‘it might still happen someday’ aren’t exactly convincing.

Right now as it stands I’m happy we didn’t get the update. Life is enough of a hot mess. I’d rather not infect my Xbox x with it.

Be careful what you wish for. Forget about the bugs. The exploits are thru the roof right now. 1 hit exploited mace. Same mace can give your clan mates infunute hp if you use fencing exploit on it. Then building in dungeons, magicially placed pillars in the sky. Building infinite to an height zone, easest meshing ever using sonething you can build by level 10. So yeah, until they have all that figured out, you dont want it. And none of that is 3rd party hacks. That is doable ingame with np special lag tricks or anything. And best bug right, coan leaders characters get data corruotion and cant log in. There is a fix ingame if have a clan mate to help, but any new death brings back the bug.

If there are so many bugs as you say the. Why aren’t they fixing them? I mean… it seems like the more common sense thing to do instead of releasing new dungeons and features

I agree. My feeling isbwhile porting it, many things had to be re coded to an extent they were not properly checked for holes to be exploited. I mess with modding, and there were some core changes. So my point is, they will need time to fix those things. But there is alot of code, and someone always finds the hole eventually in game.

I also believe thebrelease of a dungeon amd new content is thete human side needing a creative win. Game makers are (should be) artistic at the core. Do big fixing is mundane, and occasionally to keep motivated using the right brain, the left half of the brain needs a creative release.

Agreed.
Also there’s always some people whining about ‘no new content, game must be dead/why have you abandoned it?’ etc - those comments started within the first week after the update to UE5. I’m sure that rubbish puts pressure on the devs (even if they know it’s nonsense) and they wind up feeling that they need to put out something new and not just bug/exploit fixes or they’ll get more pressure.

Plus, of course, there’s also the fact that it often comes down to different teams - the people needed to fix the specific bugs and exploits may not be the same people who are producing the new content.

It’s still frustrating from our end, of course - I think most of us would rather see the fixes (and the port to consoles). But there are often multiple reasons why things go in other directions (hopefully they go in other directions as well as the fixes rather than instead - I guess we’ll see…)
