Precicely the reason I am virulently allergic to pvp, where, in general, folk are not… say, gracious? I started my gaming resume in Mechwarior Mercenaries (the original), hence I am not ignorant concerning pvp. Not for me, I do not enjoy being the “content” for other players; I’ll leave that to you all heh. /shiver.

OMG XD

And the coup de grace, skinning instead of looting, oh my.

This game use to have really good pvp when it started and in some cases better performance than single player.
I remember in the beginning months my game was crashing on single player for several reasons but online never. After the horses addition on PlayStation the game will start having humongous issues and pvp will loose a huge amount of population, plus fun. After awhile i will toss the black stone behind to never return. Occasionally i log in on pvp servers to do my crazy ideas, but i mostly quit after some days because the servers are performing extremely bad.

But again, what to you think about the unwelcome gift shield from the jhil children. Do you know that we could use it both for shield and throwing weapon?

They aren’t gracious on pve either! At least on pvp you can make their life miserable in return. But you will find a lot of good folks there too. I remember when I went to a spider to get a legendary right out the desert. I was with coarse clothing and stone daggers, because I intented to bleed it to death (a trick I kearned from @stelagel ). A fully developed player saw me and immediately came to help.He was coming for the spider too and could probably take me down easily. I was level 12 or so and had those four pairs of daggers. Nothing else. But we both wanted the key. He helped, I bowed and we both went our merry ways. This is one example among many that you’ll find. If you leave your emotions out of the fight and don’t mind to have your ass royally kicked now and then, pvp can be enjoyable. But if you don’t have a clan, tons of time and are very clingy to your stuff, you do well to avoid it. Quoting @stelagel the philosopher “on pvp, your real home is the desert”. Truer words have bever been spoken. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I’ve always dropped the thing, never used that shield but I did read it’s description. What I think is akin to the Brittle Bastard; I found no use for it in my SP runs.

Why the question about the shield?

That’s why I play Single Player, I do not enjoy the pvp scene or the pve, generally people scare me, and I love the feeling of being on my own in this world. No hasty shanty-towns, no horrible “architecture”, no competition for drops, when I turn the game off it stops, I need a pause button to pay attention to my wife; and I love not running into clowns at every turn; Single player is my own little heaven.

You cannot use it as shield anymore, it’s just throwing weapon .

Unfortunately, you really don’t want your thralls to have shields. It feels like it’s a good idea but it doesn’t work out in practice.

Check out Xevyr’s Guide to Thralls to learn more.

Loot is for offering to Lord Dagon anyway.

That reminds this one, Musashis are now next to Eldarium and named crafters in boxes, on the list of items to feed to the seas around the sunken city (and this take out of circulation in the Exiled Lands) until Funcom finally gives us a Dragon religion.

Now this one wonders if it is possible to make a Cpt 'Murika dye job for an armour and then run unwelcome gift as the main weapon.
Perhaps to support a Bomb-voyage raid on the frost temple…

Musashies are on the loot list at the Nameless City as well.

Yes? They are dropped from bosses or chests? Please give more info, this sounds interesting :star_struck:.

@Pipinghot although you’re very correct, sometimes for some unknown reasons, some thralls use the shield better than others. I know that it sounds goofy but not all the fighters are the same, they all have slightly almost unnoticed differences on their general reaction or attack pattern

It’s been a while since I stepped out of single player, both for pve and especially pvp, horrible performance being the main reason and lack of active European pvp servers coming right after. The last time I played pvp, I was looting a big base that had been raided when two of the owners arrived. A fight ensued and it was a complete shit show. Basically we were hitting thin air on half of our attacks, they looked like they were teleporting and probably I looked to be doing the same to them. I shielded my weapon and emoted and the fight stopped. One of them could be messaged, so I asked for truce. We created a chat group and talked a little. I asked if they wanted the little loot I had back, but they didn’t. It was crap anyway. I stayed on that server for over a week, playing regularly and I can count by the fingers of one hand the players who crossed paths with me. That was it for me. A lonesome, boring, glitchy experience made me finally quit.
But you see, on top of that, while we used to be able to build entire cities on single player with minimum problems, now, even on single player we’re plagued by them on console. So I have to build very small settlements and even that isn’t a guarantee of not having textures rendering delay, something I find very immersion breaking. I used to have a network of bases, outposts, roads with check points, where I could go from the noob river to the frozen north while guards would kill every enemy the moment they rendered in. That was single player domination. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
Now, if I build a half decent base with a few benches, problems start. It’s truly disenheartening.

I Can’t remember if it was one of the skeletal bosses in the Nameless City or inside Klael’s Stronghold, but I was quite surprised by it. One thing I can tell you for sure is that it drops there. Shame, I don’t use katanas.

And in the chests…
But that’s not the point.
The point is to erase a stockpile.
A stockpile that was made when it was easy, and now to replenish it requires hours of praying to RNGesus.

It is an act of benevolence to free other players from the pixels that have come to own them.

Aaahh yep, Klael’s stronghold is quite notorious for having loot chests =P

Hopefully I’m not misunderstanding something here. The black blade katana can come from any legendary chest no matter where it is. It’s just random.

Also I have to admit I used a shield once. But I didn’t inhale.

You know and understand correct, Musashi before the Al Merayah use to be a really rare find. The fact that drops from skeleton bosses (haven’t seen it yet, so far only Boulderkin had the honors) now makes it both good and bad at the same time. These skeletons have already a huge pool of drops.
Personally i believe that rng should be reduced, but in this situation it’s only rising.

If you read Xevyr’s guide it explains why, but what really matters is that none of them are good with it. Some are worse, some are better, but none of them are actually good. All of them perform better without shields than with shields, which is what matters in the end.

I have read this guide the day it was posted and i have seen it being corrected and expanded . So please don’t suggest these things to me. You could easily say, “if you understand” not “if you read”:rofl::rofl:. Xevyr is a fantastic member , a super genius young man but the tool he is using is incomplete since devs never handed the full dev kit to the audience. If this young man had the full dev kit maybe Conan exiles would be a completely flawless game right now.
Xevyr claims (he is absolutely correct since he can see it in the dev kit) for some things that they are standard. I don’t experience something standard .

Thank you for the effort of advice however it’s really appreciated .
