Back after a long Hiatus

I play Conan on both PS4 and Xbox, mostly single player and inviting small groups of friends to play on our own servers. Really what I like is building things and then just running around the maps seeing what I find. We’ve been on a break for a while and just decided to come back, We find that once again all attribute points have been reassigned(This has happened several times), the advancement system is totally different, the building system interface is totally different. Devs me and my friends are busy people, Having to re-learn how to do everything is a massive time investment. We’ve got enough work in real life without needing extra homework to play a game we’ve already mastered. I get that you want to be new and fresh and provide more and different challenges. But for the Love of Crom could you please stop fixing things that aren’t broken? Thanks.

Can’t win

Welcome to the Forum. Can’t say I enjoy the new system but you don’t have to do the journey steps if you’re taking off with a established toon this update came out when my new character was about level 25 I do some let others ride because the reward is not worth while. Been playing since day one on a Siptah official server now makes it interesting @Baronxan

Getting used to construction hammer is a pain but Getting the hang of it main problem is it’s accidently tearing down instead of building lingering pressure on shoulder button can destroy from a distance. Good luck Exile

There were things that were broken with the old system, unfortunately you did not have the time to invest to see just what those problems were. And so the community brought their feedback to Funcom, and Funcom made what they believe to be the best choice to remediate those issues.

There are plenty of sources to keep up with the changed game mechanics, especially on YouTube with creators like FireSpark and Wak. The new Journey System is also a great way to learn how to play the game, as each Journey is like it’s own tutorial. Sure the new building system is a bit clunky at the start but once you get the hang of it, it is massively more intuitive and allows for you to build at a much faster pace than waiting for 6.000 walls to be created in your inventory.

Hope you and your friends enjoy your time in the Exiled Lands, and we’ll see you out there!

I would suggest focusing on re-learning the things you enjoy doing. Once you familiarize yourself with the new building system, you may find it a lot more flexible and user-friendly than the old one was. Use the new Journey system to guide you through the learning process.

Ultimately, a game needs to evolve if it wants to stay alive. Change is always a challenge, but it’s also an opportunity. I pretty much came back from my long hiatus because of the changes.
