Backstab agility perk - does it work?

I haven’t done extensive testing yet, so I’m wondering if anyone has?

I’m playing on a server with mods, including Hosav’s UI Mod, so I can see damage amounts. What I am seeing is that the Backstab perk (15% damage bonus when attacking from behind) does not work at all (PvE, haven’t tried PvP). There is never bonus damage. Damage is the same regardless of where I attack from.

So… bug on this server, or is the perk itself buggy?
