[insert usual desire for more options with thralls here as a side note]
I think it’s common to have a favorite thrall and want to keep them/do more with them, but at some point you realize the game is built in a way that you are supposed to discard them at some point, replace and do away with. The arguments against training thralls is that one might say it reduces the need to catch multiple high end ones. I have solutions.
My ideas here are as follows:
-
Companion experience:
I say that thralls should be able to “Train” with better thralls around them in a slow but eventual progress to the level of their comrades. This concept would require you have caught several high level thralls, of which one low-level thrall can achieve similarity to. (Only the weakest can do this, one thrall with like… 5 or so, growing to the weakest of the 5.) -
Fight pit:
The (Possibly) zero benefit option! As opposed to a wheel of pain, you knock out and drag a would-be thrall to a training cage with an existing thrall. It is possible you may need to catch multiples to train a thrall and also possible that the thrall gets slightly stronger due to this (Maybe at a risk of death if the power variance is too high) to make it at least somewhat beneficial. -
Good ol’ training in high level places.
As long as the effort in all ways is the same or greater than catching a local, is it really imbalanced?
Either way I would definitely like to be able to interact with these people more. We have a very unique system here but I feel like it could be even better. I want them to be more than just drones to deploy.
Edit: After some careful deliberation, I thought that it might be cool to be able to name or title thralls that reach the equivalent of a level 4 of their class. (Or name them at all, but this challenge, I feel, is a more rewarding and lore-friendly way to do this)
