Bug Description:

Barkeeper was killed by a player.(2)


Bug Reproduction:

Barkeeper was missing. Checked Server Log.

They all have/had endgame armor and weapons, are/were max lvl with rerolled perks for VIT. Of course, the Barkeeper can’t fight, but it was standing right next to the other two who would have defended it against any reasonable threat.

Is there a bug/exploit by which my Barkeeper was ‘killed by a playher.(2)?’ Is it only possible with a Barkeeper or are all thralls under threat?

This spot shouldn’t get much traffic. Further, recent events incline me to believe I may be specifically targeted.

Of course, the most important factor above all is this is a PvE server.

The new patch notes killed almost everyones barkeepers if funcom thought they where “abandoned” not sure what the parameters where for that? maybe too far from landclaim or something not sure. But half our server lost their barkeeps too.

That or a hacker can kill them with their AOE kill any thrall hack even on PVE servers.

If any barkeeper is not on landclaim or near to a player, it starts a four hour countdown.

It is not a very elegant clean-up solution, and just removing barkeeper invincibility - which is the bigger problem - would have made NPCs slaughter most of the truly abandoned barkeepers.

Anyway, there isn’t much need to leave barkeepers out in the middle of nowhere, so although I think the abandonment mechanic is excessive, it shouldn’t incorrectly target very many barkeepers.

So server log will show such an “expired” barkeeper as being killed by a player?

Apparently. I don’t think the event log is configured very well for accurately reporting causes of death.

Adding to this for something else, breaking bond shows an extra bit about population exceeded even when thrall count is low.

Seems like placeholders?

Tested it and the event log does indeed say the barkeeper was killed by a player even though the system itself deleted said barkeeper.
