Bug Description:

Video of multiple barkeepers causing infinite fighting.

Barkeepers are immortal. Players leaving their barkeepers behind will cause infinite fighting around thrall cages. There are multiple barkeepers just standing around in god mode getting wailed on.

Bug Reproduction:

Release a barkeeper. Leave it there. Observe.

I don’t know what the idea of making them immortal was in the first place, as it seems this is not a bug but intentional. After it was annoying at first it is more and more a real problem, so please fix this.

Six visible here, another four in my back.

irritate perk and a zamorian barkeeper companion makes every pve fight trivial. You can also have a bunch of zamorian barkeepers defending your base during a purge, they will distract every enemy while you shot gas arrows.

Is this true? Last time i checked the Barkeeper was not invulnerable and can die when following, so you canā€˜t hop on a rock and go fetch a cup of coffee and expect ongoing slaughter when you come back. Have to test this…

Update: Ok, invulnerable, also as follower. Could not find one so had to run a purge with a single silver coin… I’m quite sure i had lost a barkeeper as follower but maybe not…

irritate perk and a zamorian barkeeper companion makes every pve fight trivial.

Barkeeps are not able to be assigned irritate perk. Enemies swap aggro at random so they do still sometimes go to horses and barkeeps who cannot irritate, but this is not an actual barkeep mechanic.

That being said, they are still free smack dummies for enemies that are easy for player to take advantage of.

Inmortal Zasmorian Barkeepers are the only way of keeping stuff safe from cheaters, dont take that away from us

Neither are mounts, but they get it anyway.

Brilliant! The SUPERHERO of Conan Exiles is a tiny, very talkative person whose only aim in life is to wipe countertops! LMAO!!!

Oh, and chug ale next to her customers! Forgot that perk!

I really wish funcom would fix this. Too many people abusing the fact they are immortal, plugging up keyhole with them or barracks to keep players from placing bombs. Hackers are using them to stash bombs, currently have a guy 1540 that’s been hacking and sky basing on there and he has bar keeps all over with his loot on them and there’s nothing you can do about it.

And so the real question is, why do you keep playing on pvp servers where the whole system is one huge exploit?

There is a difference between hacks and exploits. All hacks are exploits but exploits are not hacks. I would play PVP if hackers were dealt with despite the exploits. You can fight against exploits in most cases but you can’t against someone taking the clothes off your back, auto killing all your thralls or hitbox pulling when you can’t see them.

The Barkeepers problem isn’t just on PVP though, its game wide.

I cannot get the same feeling playing PVE; I like the heart pumping action in fighting, raiding and risk of losing my base.

So you’re blaming me wanting to the play the game as it’s intended and not the people clearly taking advantage of the fact Conan officials is a literal Wild West since funcom has stopped its support? What an odd take.

Another way barkeeps (and other for sale thralls) cause trouble is when someone buys them, and just leaves them in the cage. Can’t move it, can’t kill it. Best you can do is bury it in foundations. The other thralls at least an ad hoc purge could be called, or with a berserker dragged to them.

There just needs to be a ā€œdeath sentenceā€ imposed within a certain number of days/hours on any thrall that remains by a cage after being freed. Easy peasy.
