Bartenders on strike

Not sure what happened when but I think it correlates to having lively villages turned off, but something has drastically changed about jails. They are empty the majority of the time for me. Used to have some one in almost every one, finding an empty cage/jail was rare, and bartenders were common; a bit too common. I’ve been hunting for a bartender for days now, 26 different jailers to get 1 bartender. 2 low level fighters and a low level tanner{?}.

Is anyone else still checking the jails?
Do they seem to be empty a majority of the time?

I know no one is going to read this, I’ve never understood why people seem to judge their merit on how accepted they are. As in the click thing has never made sense to me.

The distribution has changed for sure but i got a decent range still on Official PvE both on Xbox and Playstation. Almost guaranteed bartender for me is the one near the Obelisk at the mound of the deads. Almost always full is the cage at camp backside of Mek Kamoses and at Desertwatch. But i have major pain to find a new bladesmith after my base and thralls decayed a while ago, neither at Sepermeru nor the camp near Lians Watch where I were often successful before … On an other server I got Conall the hammer yesterday at an Exiles camp on noob river, so i should visit there more often perhaps

Wish some number person would check this because RNG can’t be this bad.

Before the lively villages was turned off; just time frame not blaming, I had an NPC in practically every jail. I just set them free. But certain jails seem to never or quite infrequently have NPC; Thugra’s stand is a good example. But now I am up to 38 jails, 2 low level fighters, a low level tanner, a bartender, and a low level entertainer.

Now some of these jails I hit quite a bit because the area around the sink hole is ripe with hearts for Set. And they all seem empty.

Oh you have 70 views already m8, but apparently none of us have something constructive to say.
For barkeeper i proclaim a lvl 1. A small sandstone structure, a fast kill to all the archers and the guardians inside will make this purge a matter of just a few minutes. A silver coin is enough to trigger it.
As for the cages like @LostBrythunian, i free to set free not to enslave again, so i mostly break bonds at once.

In the Summoning Place, bartender is always in the cage, which is on the second floor, i.e. to the right of the entrance.

This one has found that some cages are refilled at each server reset.
Other cages only randomly have anyone in them.
A few cages, if already opened since reset, sometimes refilled.

Purely anecdotal, but the refilled cages seem to have a high instance of a tier 4 inhabitant.

It’s almost like some cages default to filled or empty, but then get a chance to have a named resident that is checked when coming into render.

However, a few cages always have Barkeeps. This may be exclusive to PlayStation.

This is from experience on private and official servers. Your mileage may vary.

Example: the cage in the mounds of the dead has always been a barkeep for this one. The only exceptions being named thralls, which is why this one thinks there is a default/over-ride protocol in place.

Likewise one of the cages (not the one next to the priest) in New Asagrath has always been either a barkeep or named.

But this is anecdote not code dive.

Not my last 3 times through.

Not long joined an official, first time of going to the summoning place the cage up to the left contained a barkeeper.

I’d still be interested in the system of HOW the cages actually work.
I never found thrall in some of them, even after a server restart.

Overall, it’s a rather “annoying” system when there are less cages than the maximum number of players on the server. And even if there are about 20 people active on where I’m playing (but not at once of course) that’s enough to make the chances of someone being in a cage pretty slim, usually zero in the evening - unless there’s a bartender in the cage, which usually no one wants.
This is another problem by the way , dragging on since the start of the “new” purges , the percentage of bartenders in cages is unnecessarily high and it’s only getting worse here.
To sum it up : there are not enough cages, the respawn is ridiculously long and when the cage is not empty there is a bartender.
In a very small percentage of cases there is a normal thrall … and RNG god send me T1 exile…

The solution would be put a 1-hour reset on cages , currently this feature doesn’t work much outside of SP and just pushes players to bypass it with purges that slow down servers.
