It’s easier to blame games than admiting bad parenting (this is not addressed to you at all @anon77605266 !).
My son is the top of his class and a very happy child. Playing videogames leads kids to score higher in IQ tests by about two points. The studies are still preliminary, but games help them developing their intelligence, if supervised properly.
We can notice if a kid is alienating himself in videogames way before it becomes a problem and there are many ways to counter that process, that is but a sign of deeper issues manifesting in such way.
Communication with kids is extremely important, but it needs trust, time and truth from both parts.
Anyway, we were talking about the bazaar and ended up discussing child development.
