My guess: To urge ppl to buy the BP booster.
I think they weren’t making nearly as much money on the BP as the “monetization expert” they mentioned in the AoS C1 DevStream anticipated. And the questinoable decission to timegate the whole Bazaar by making it rotation based instead of offering the whole list of available packs at all times to buy on a whim, wasn’t helping either.
Since you get all your crom coins back, in theory you’d only need to buy CC once and still rake in all BPs they’ll ever put out. So they had basically two choices: Remove or reduce the payback or give ppl an incentive to buy the booster.
Now guess which option would have had the louder outcry?
