The weeklies per se are not necessarily a problem- one could easily get used to them, they are less tedious than constantly refreshing, repetitive tasks. They are, I would say, a matter of -taste-. Some like it, some don’t, and we could argue in circles about that.

The real issue is elsewhere- as I have stated, the devs have both stated in the livestream and in writing (patch notes/changelog) that the -main- new avenue for getting battlepass experience would be through passively playing the game. Killing, crafting, building, harvesting. I didn’t mind that at all- I liked it. I thought it was a good way of getting people to play the game.
However, they decided to add a cap to how much xp you can get a day through passive playing- and they did -not- make it clear, they did -not- make it known. And -that- is the aggravating part. They were not transparent about it, they were misleading about it.
