T3 bearers definitely are still dropping alch base in 3.0 testlive. Just not quite as frequently due to other mats now taking their fair share of the loot table RNG process. Concur with DaVice that using the perk that gives extra rare materials is yielding huge results in volcano for goldstone. Before gold rocknoses, I used to stop farming obsidian around 100 or so, then with the rocknoses it jumped up to well over 400. Last night I did my normal circuit and came home with over 650 goldstone - and that was just my regular circuit. Definitely feels rewarding and appropriate now. I also think Siptah gold needs to be nerfed - way too much - itās not precious there, itās too abundant.
Finally got an alch base drop off a T3.
It is MUCH rarer, which has seen me have to actually make alch base in the Exiled Lands for the first time in 4+ years.
What a tedious process.
Since when have gold rocknoses been in the volcano? Are they 100% spawns? Where are they?
I think there is only one. It is at the top of the Road of the Pilgrim before you cross the bridge. Harvesting it with a pick will provide a large quantity of goldstone.
There are four that have been there since the big rocknose change. Iām pretty sure they are a 100% spawn. All are towards the southern end of the volcano.
I only know of two guaranteed gold-veins. One on the main road up and the other not far from the hidden path. As far as I know the rest are random spawns, at least on testlive with the release of 3.0.
Thereās 4 guaranteed spawn spots I know of:
- Enter via Hidden Way, keep left, cling to left wall and keep going until you walk over some lava to a little plateau - one there.
- go back towards hidden way, canāt remember exactly but thereās a little land bridge to the left to take you back over the lava river, go over it and look around that area. It should be pretty much directly opposite the Hidden Way entrance.
- Another one up around the edges of the poisonous gas area with all the alchemists etc, right in between the Shrine of the Oracle and the Terrace of the Tenders
- Another one in the middle of the path down to the snow, the Road of the Pilgrim.
All definitely 100% spawns. Enjoy! All still there in testlive so far so I expect to see them all when 3.0 launches too.
After the newest testlive patch, 10 T3 bearers dropped me:
Do you think thatās a higher ratio of Alch Base than before the patch? Probably looks like it to me. I didnāt specifically test it but I would think I was getting maybe a 10-15% chance of alch base drop from each t3 bearer. The above image does look more reasonable.
My TNG saw me getting alch base around 60% of the time pre 3.0.
The ārareā perk same get none, but a sh*t ton of bear pelts. When I respeced to remove that perk, I am back to 60%ish.
