Illusions are part of the Sorcery feature. You don’t need to become a sorcerer to use Illusions; all you need is to learn the Sorcery feat and build a workbench in your base. There you can use a weapon or a piece of armor to alter the appearance of another piece of equipment. The end result has the stats of the item you pick to contribute stats, and the appearance of the item you pick for visuals. The latter item is consumed in the process, which is why I recommend crafting non-epic items to be used as illusions - it looks the same, but costs less to craft. Both items must be at full durability, so if you intend to use a Legendary item, you need to do this when it’s still fresh.
On Siptah, the best equipment recipes come from the Vaults, so I haven’t bothered with delving too much. There are some delveable armor sets that have the same visuals as some Exiled Lands armor (such as Hyena-fur, or Lemurian Royal) but whose recipes you can’t learn on Siptah, unless you get a lucky random recipe drop, so those might be worth delving if you like the aesthetics.
