Destroyer and Carnage are pointless. Does anyone use them? I don’t play pvp, but I’ve never seen anyone use them in PvE and I would never use them myself. Whatever, have your fun, make pointless items. But to also make the toned-down crafted versions, Blackheart Hammer and Blackheart Blade, useless is just rubbing salt in the wound. Blackheart Hammer in particular has a really cool and unique model. It’s not even good enough that I would make it my primary thrall weapon, but it would be fun if I could use it on guards. As it stands these 4 weapons have some potential but are completely pointless.
(For anyone unfamiliar with these weapons they are not useful for players because they instantly give you max corruption and they are not useful on thralls because they don’t deal damage when wielded by thralls.)
For what it’s worth - Antidote of One (fourth Survival perk) does make you immune to the corruption from the weapon, allowing the player to wield it. I’m not sure that it’s worth spending the points on if that’s the only reason to do it, because the weapons themselves are still no stronger than other weapons that don’t require that many points in survival, but the option is there. I used the two-handed mace for a while (Destroyer? I forget which is which) with no trouble, but I could just as easily have been using something else and put the points elsewhere.
Question is there any actual use for corrupted weapons if so I have not run into it. There’s probably a few places on the map I have not run into. Thanks in advance.
Must admit, there’s none that I’ve run into either. I always figured they should be more powerful than similar weapons, because of the huge downside, but they seem to not be any better. Destroyer, for example, is right up there at the top end of the two-handed hammers for damage and armor penetration, but so is Ranissan (and that one doesn’t give you corruption…).
Either way, I enjoyed it for the amusing image of small character swinging (and being swung around by) the Warmaker’s Champion’s massive hammer
