I’d say the block limit for a server before you start seeing issues is around 4-5 Million. But even then these issues would be minor. It also assumes the entire server.

There’s no real ‘block limit’ for an individual unless a server rule actually says one. There’s a practical limit in that it would take a player an inordinate amount of time just to farm the mats and place the blocks, and another practical limit in how much space one can build in.

In this example you would not likely get hemmed up for a 20k base unless there is just tons and tons of unused useless space. The restrictions given by official sources indicates that the space taken up needs to be used. But most of this really only assumes 2 dimensions. Which is where many players tend to get hemmed up when they run afoul. Taking up pace over a large area on the flat plane takes up space others cannot use, and has a higher likelihood of despawning more NPCs and nodes that it doesn’t need to. Meanwhile building relatively small in the cardinal directions but focusing on building up and tall gives a player more square footage to work with in a much more efficient way.

20k building pieces in a small area, but built very tall is not going to cause any issues for other players. But 10k built in a single layer of foundations over an area would likely get you banned.
