I’ve been waiting for a solution to the problem of logging into official servers from the ru region for a week now, let me remind you that everything worked for me before moving your servers!!!
I don’t think the developers will listen to us…
Since May 5, my friends and I haven’t been able to log in to the Conan servers. We keep getting an endless connection to the server, followed by a return to the main menu. The update didn’t help. My friend was able to log in, but the ping is so high that it’s impossible to play combat. However, we have all the game dlc.
It will be on their conscience, we did everything we could, we tried.
I also have the entire bazaar and all the passes.
Some service number 13 won’t let you enter the region. Take a look at the screenshots that I have attached.
It’s not Funcom. It’s RKN blocking some addresses used by BattleEye. Get some VPN with little pings, log into your server (wait until BattleEye launches) then you may switch VPN off and play without it.
Everything was working for me a week ago. That’s the joke, battleeye has been in Conan for a long time. It’s stopped since the move. What kind of vpn service do you use?

Got this game after the Enhanced update released, and not being able to connect to any official servers is just… so frustrating. I am playing Dune Awakening from Funcom and have no issues with official servers at all (and they use BattleEye as well so I doubt it’s about that).
And before that I tried playing Windrose with my German friends on a G-Portal server they rented and couldn’t connect to it either.
If anyone here from Russia and have tips how to bypass the access restriction (if you know which Zapret 2 protocol works or if you can suggest a working VPN) I would much appreciate it.
I found a way to enter servers using AmneziaWG and a Cloudflare WARP. Everythings work like a charm now. Not sure if sharing details or links here is allowed, but if you find ru_gamer subreddit on Reddit and look for a recent post about Conan, there is a guide how to set it up in the comments.
According to media reports, there’re new internet barriers for the Moscow area, possibly others, to protect the parade from… incidents. Maybe that’s the cause?
Different games may use different IPs for BattleEye. Looks like some of them have changed when they moved official servers so now we don’t have access to them. I’ve switched off BattleEye on my private server just in case.
I opened my game.ini file, took a list of servers and their IP addresses, and started searching for server locations using geolocation services. Servers CEE 1040, 1041, and 1090 are located in Lauterbourg, France, in a data center owned by Contabo, which in turn acquired G-Portal in 2021. G-Portal (Ociris GmbH) is a subsidiary of Contabo. They are related but offer slightly different services.
Then I tried accessing the Contabo website from Russia without a VPN, and what did I see? This is the reason why players from Russia can’t access game servers without a VPN. Contabo has blocked all Russian IP address ranges.
You can add all the servers in the game to your favorites, then open the game.ini file and find out the actual IP address location of the data center where G-portal hosts your server. For example, servers 1213 and 1214 are located in Finland, in the city of Helsinki.
And by the way, Shlepa’s screenshots show that the blocking occurs on the penultimate hope before the contabo equipment.
So, here’s the final breakdown of roles, based solely on verified facts:
Funcom (Norway) is the game’s publisher and developer, and the owner of the franchise. They released the Conan Exiles Enhanced update.
Inflexion Games (Edmonton, Canada) is Funcom’s technical partner. This studio was brought in to assist with the transition to Unreal Engine 5 due to its relevant experience. However, Inflexion Games has no connection with the servers or hosting. Tencent (China) has owned Inflexion Games since 2022.
GPORTAL (Ociris GmbH) (Munich, Germany) is Funcom’s official and exclusive hosting partner. This company directly manages the official Conan Exiles servers, running the server software provided by Funcom on its own hardware. GPORTAL is responsible for administration, DDoS protection, and player access.
Contabo (Germany, Munich) is GPORTAL’s parent company, which acquired it in 2021. Contabo owns the physical infrastructure: server hardware, data centers (including the one in Lauterbourg, France), and the network. Contabo sets global network policies, including GeoIP blocks, which are then applied to all subsidiaries, including GPORTAL.

Leads to the next question: Why is Contabo blocking Russian IP adresses? It may, for example, be a temporary reaction to a recent attack on Contabo or Conan Exiles servers in particular from Russian IP adresses*. It may be due to Contabo being in trouble with other parties, that in turn demanded Contabo impose stricter policies. They may be legally obliged by their host country or even another country they operate in. Or maybe, there are other reasons.

Whatever the reasons, the franchise owner should know that the hoster is blocking access to players that the owner has not blocked. The franchise owner should consider changing the hoster. What about data centers in China?
Moving all servers to China would open up the next problems for US and European players. Opening some servers in China might be the wise choice, if that’s economically and legally possible.
It’s sad, but we may have to face the reality that the times of a global, relatively equal internet is over. The political tensions even affect our little gaming world.
This game is too bloody and violent to pass the review in China. Report it to the government and it will be taken down immediately
Apparently, the developers don’t care about this either. I don’t see any reactions or messages. It was a great experience playing the new Conan.

What you could do is report the bug in the bug section.
Personal thought: If users from the rest of the world who don’t use VPNs or anything like that are already experiencing minimum pings of 100, up from 45 (making it unplayable at times), it’s going to be difficult. I would talk to my friends and try to set up a server in the country.
Before the update, I had my own version on my PC because I didn’t like that in a player, when you moved away from a village and then approached it again, all the villages would automatically reappear.
