I have previously played in single player and now I have created a dedicated server myself.
As described in the title, different blocks simply disappear, mostly when I am logged out and the server is still running. I have to use a somewhat older backup file every time which solves the problem.
Because the objection comes surely - yes mods are installed. In singleplayer with exactly the same mods no blocks disappear …
Check your Event Log for Building System entries. Since you’ve self-described as primarily playing single-player, my guess is that you may not be well-acquainted with the Decay System as that’s usually a major difference between playing on a server vs. single-player.
Basically, when you set down a foundation that isn’t connected to anything else, it will only last for 1 hour until it is in a decayed state. As you snap additional pieces onto it though, the decay time of all those snapped pieces will increase until reaching the maximum set on the server (default is 168 hours, aka 1-week).
These building pieces will have their decay timer refreshed by the presense of a member of the owning clan being logged into the server and nearby, though it can take a minute or two for the timer to update.
Not a lot of information to go off of. Server Logs and Event Logs should show something (you need to click search on the Event log to get it to populate). You need to specify what buildings, what configurations, etc. Saying “blocks disappear” tells very little.
And if it’s modded buildings, its best to contact the mod author for further troubleshooting.
Up to now I could only find this out with ground blocks. Or in other words, I only noticed it there because you fall into a hole, which might not be so noticeable on walls.
In detail these were reinforced stone foundations and stable foundations.
In the eventlog there is nothing like that - you can find login and out as well as loss of bags, killings and things concerning the thralls.
None of the mods has anything to do with buildings or blocks. In the base itself I do not use anything placeable that is not part of the game.
