Bugs persisting for ages and new ones added?

Hello

Funcom your actions confuse me somewhat. Your latest large update, the one what was quite unfinished when it went live. Was supposed to balance some things?

Balance Issues:

Human thralls were “nerfed”. Nerf them another 50% and it could work. They are still so powerful 1 of them can repel most purges and solo most bosses
Pets were “nerfed”. Most of them were balanced/weak before, so why?
Bosses were “nerfed” Most of them were weak before and now just ehm trash mobs
Example: It now takes under 1 minute for a single player no pet to kill the Red Mother
Horses were not “nerfed” Mounted combat has completely gimped balance across the board. While riding you can do nearly anything.

A Game must progress, DLC must be added and money must be made.

But isn’t it time you stopped progressing to catch up a little bit with the plethora of issues that increasingly cripple the game. Neither in it self. But there seem to be more and more going on unfixed as if Funcom has never played their own game.

Recently you added:

Pets that insist on colliding/locking the player character by warping into/onto the player
Pets that warp under the player sending the player jumping/falling randomly
Pets that refuse engaging in combat under different circumstances.
Pets make it hard to function because they graphically screw with aim or ressource collection due to the inability for the player to affect the pet distance from the player.
Conflict server rule change or bug. Players can now freely engage mount, pet and thrall of opposing player they attack. Statement?
NPC “hiding” in the ground. Feet deep as well as entirely in the ground. It seems to be any NPC that does so.
NPC seems to be stuck in it’s spawn position. When engaged it falls trough the ground but remains alive untouchable. Even bosses

Todays patch added:

Living pet no longer display food selection in inventory
NPC leash still make them walk slowly home to be killed from behind without taking action

Older common glithces never fixed
Corpses going invisible here and there. Sometimes most of them, sometimes almost none of them. Ongoing for more than half a year
Flying corpses. Rhinoes, Rocknoses, some bosses randomly and possibly more. Ongoing for more than half a year
Inaccuracy of decay timers. Often times seeming completely random.
Instant cooking, enslaving, smelting etc. etc. To the point of being publicly and openly used. Ongoing for more than half a year

I am sure there are many more, these just came to my mind during this downtime and yet another hotfix.

And honestly.

All of the legendary item skin re-use. 3-4-5 weapons looking utterly identical because noone bothered making a new model actually reflecting the item in question. That is just lazy as… not cool. You have the option to keep making an epic game, but seem to really wanna just run it into the ground sometimes :frowning:

And everyone is of course free to agre or disagree. Or better yet, add to this post.

More than 15 days have passed since the caotic patch june 16th and no matter how many of us have complained because we cant even logg into the servers to be able to play, Funcom does NOTHING ABOUT IT.
Whoever released that patch FOR SURE didnt test it properly.

I agree that stronger thralls are still unnecessarily powerful. Howevr, people who demand nerfs for thralls often neglect the fact that there are weaker thralls too - thralls who are already questionable in usefulness since fixed spawns of T4’s are so abundant and who need no further nerfs.

Like lower-tier thralls, pets don’t really need any more nerfs. Equipment is a massive advantage for human thralls. Pets (should) get higher bonuses from raw stats than human followers, but are still reportedly lackluster in comparison.

Or maybe the pets are now in the right spot, and it’s just the Dalinsias and Lians who are still too powerful.

I have a 150 % player damage modifier on my Single-Player game, and even with a thrall’s help I don’t kill the Red Mother in under a minute. I’m not using a horse, though. In any case, the Red Mama was never difficult, just tedious because she had the hitpoints of an aircraft carrier. I don’t mind reducing tedium in a game that’s supposed to be fun.

Some bugs have existed since Early Access, which is admittedly somewhat annoying. I suspect some of them have roots in the overall game physics engine and can’t be fixed without rewriting massive parts of the whole game. (That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be fixed, just that they can’t be fixed invididually.)

But when complaining about age-old bugs we often forget that many, many bugs have been fixed during these two years. In fact, most of the bugs that bothered me are no more. (I’m lucky because Single-Player mode doesn’t seem to suffer from some of the bugs that seem to be related to server stress, such as many follower-related idiotisms.)

Although a minor annoyance, I do agree with you here. I’m a collector of legendary items, and it’s boring to have multiple identical-looking weapons on my display racks. Then again, weapon appearances are precisely the sort of cosmetic content many people would like to see less, in favor of focusing on fixing the game. (They’re not mutually exclusive, of course. Artists don’t do bug-fixing, and bug-fixers don’t make art assets.)
