Building damage from animals

So first i noticed the black ice taking building damage from animals. Now i’m at the back obelisk in the jungle building Khitan and noticed spiders and locusts are damaging it. i have no archers or anything. just a shell of a building that I’m constantly having to repair. Is this intended? Whats the point of building tier 3 if so? Damage taking place isn’t from Purges just run of the mill spiders and locusts.

A.F.A.I.K. buildings are supposed to take damage from creature attacks.
At least your creatures can attack. A majority of them in my game can’t.
They just run up either to my character, one of my thralls, or something I have placed or built,
but then, just stop
Not even my thralls can attack.
My character also gets stuck trying to equip weapons or tools.
