I was building a new base with mostly Stormglass. I realized that the triangular wedge and ceiling pieces have some sort of visual flickering bug where the pieces meet (Please fix this). This is very irritating so I switched them out for the Turanian wedges. I like the look of the bottoms but not the tops.

This made me really wish there was a transmog system for building. I wish I could apply the texture of one set to one side and another set to another side of ceilings/walls. Does anybody else want this? Funcom please make this happen. If Fallout 76 can do it, so can Conan.

You can swap out building pieces with the building hammer. You just need enough material to build one new piece. When you swap out a piece, you get the mats from the old piece back so you end up with the same amount of mats you started with. I recently did this to a tower where I replaced a lot of windows with plain walls. The old system would have required a lot more mats or deleting walls with a loss of stability on most of the tower.

I really don’t want different textures on the inside and outside of walls.

Would be nice in theory, but most likely won’t happen in practice. From what I’ve seen, different pieces have not only different textures, but different meshes, too. You can’t just apply a texture from one mesh to another and expect it to look okay.

I mean, if they did implement this – and they most likely won’t – nobody would force anyone to use it, right?

Probably should disable such a feature on PvP servers.
Unless they tie it to sorcery and make it expensive to illusion individual pieces.

However, especially with the tier 1 market set and 1-3 sorcery build pieces, it would be very nice to build with them without inviting the purge or a raid to sneeze it into oblivion.

Why not? I mean I already do. I can have Turanian Walls outside with Black Ice interior (or exterior on the inside). Why is this fact not agreeable to you?

How do you already do this? Are you stacking? I stopped stacking when I left PVP. I spend a lot of my time building in PVE-C and single player now.

It has a building piece that allows me to put two walls up side by side. So it lets me have a wall with two exterior facing or a wall with a different style on the outside as the inside.

When I choose a building piece, that’s the piece I want, not half of that and another non-matching look on the other side. It’s certainly among the last things I’d like Funcom to be working on. Just adding this as a possibility would at a minimum double the lag from buildings.

There’s always a chance that you’re an experienced game developer and you’re about to share some really insightful explanation, but my bet is that you have no idea what you’re talking about.

The way the mod does it, adds a little more loading because it takes multiple building pieces to pull off. If Funcom did it piece by piece on the sides, then no, it would result in less. We’re talking about maybe a bit or byte of info here. That’s probably already being taken up and unused.
