Every purge we have so far has mistakes.
The old purge had more than this one, way more and it wasn’t challenging at all.
The only purge that could frighten you a bit was the Cimmerian Berserker purge on a tier 1 base ONLY! Yet we didn’t had these characters we have now neither the weapons and armors we have now.
An old purge with today’s character and gear will look like tier 3 of today’s purge.
The waves were extremely predictable on their paths and your thralls could finish a purge before you understand that it happened. The only reason an old purge could become a bit tricky was the fact that you needed to slave npcs. If you didn’t want to slave npcs, it was boring and predictable like lvl 1.
As for punishing to new builds and players??? Who the imps or the hyenas???
Give me a break!
Veterans were skipping purges by leave clan recreate clan, even in Siptah that traps existed.
So nothing divine to the old purge system, only melancholy for a mechanic that gave us fear the first months playing this game.

It’s true it happens to many locations and many times for no reason at all.
Or sometimes, when you upgrade the lvl of the purge, for some idiotic reason the purge cannot find place to camp anymore, no mater if you made 10 purges before in this specific building that had absolutely zero changes.
Purge needs fixing and that’s a fact.
