clearly the gods are only actually able to speak directly with funcom employees, and not players
i suspect that the OP has angered the gods in some way, and their server is now cursed.
i encourage the OP to sacrifice many many many thralls to lift the curse.

He should take one step further and sacrifice his friend

I think they just meant that anything out of the norm on a vanilla server is restricted only to Funcom administration and developers, including unique events. Granted, that assumes that it’s only on official. Anyone swearing that they’re playing a vanilla server and talking about all of this clearly isn’t playing on official.

Hello,

The devs read the full posts, as they are always linked.

If you have any other information you would like me to pass along to them so they can maybe understand the situation better, let me know and I will do it

Thank you!

Are you saying that there is a developer at Funcom… who read this thread… saw the linked pictures… actually understood the post… and then replied “Yeah! that’s us doing it, but it’s not meant for players!”

  • For example this one… where 2 avatars are fighting and the poster claims that they are NOT actually controlled by a player… but autonomous

  • And that Set and Zath TEAMED UP and sent spiders to the players base…

  • Then Mitra NOTIFIED the player to go and gather 10 weapons for their troops…

  • And that players are required to pray to Hanuman in order to calm down these events…

This thread is NOT about the event / encounter system that is part of the base-game… the user is clearly being trolled by their admin friends and you or one of the devs confirming these is just irresponsible in my opinion and only serves to further fuel the fire and spread misinformation when the player was clearly already confused by these.

It sounds super awesome either way. Imagine this actually happening in the game.

The shocked look when a conspiracy theory is actually true and confirmed.

Good thing it’s neither of those things

Maybe weve been reading different threads.

No, but maybe Sarealac and you are playing a different videogame

It’s obviously some form of miscommunication which will most likely be corrected, unless you’re saying that you’re the second person out of several million that suddenly started having conversations with the gods of Conan? :stuck_out_tongue:

Is that what you’re confirming @Nemisis or are you just here to troll as you are in 99% of your forum interactions?

Nice slander. For someone who speaks of spreading misinformation, you have no issues doing it yourself.

Look, the OP made a wild claim. I dont know if I believe it happened, even though it would be epic if it did. Keep in mind, if you remember back to the EA launch trailer where Mitra and Set were fighting each other, the idea of Gods fighting was on the devs mind for a long time. Maybe some part of that code is in the game. Maybe thats a hint at the next age. Either way, it was confirmed by Sarealac that it was not intended for players and was for Funcom only.

So, what does that all mean?

We have a wild claim (called a conspiracy theory in this thread.) It was then confirmed as part of the game unaccessable to players and was restricted to Funcom only. Then finally we have people who simply cant believe the explanation given by Funcom itself.

I just pointed out how shocked and in disbelief some people were. I get a laugh because there are always people saying “conspiracy theory” followed by “misinformation/disinformation” then they are in shock when its confirmed. Ill quickly add that you also decided to deflect and call me a troll for this, which I dont care. Says more about you then it does me.

PS: Id love for encounters like this, and for the God fights we were teased with.

Its certainly what I would choose to believe.

I’m reminded of when we found out they werent enforcing building on world bosses on funcom servers and we all said “wut?”, then a couple weeks later age of war moved all the legendary boxes to the end of dungeons… and everyone dropped the world boss complaints…

Where have I posted misinformation? :man_shrugging:

So you’re confirming that you don’t actually believe this happened… See? this is precisely why I was under the impression that the only reason you’re replying to this is because you saw my name and wanted to troll around :man_shrugging: If that is not the case, then I’m sorry, but it sure as hell looks that way from here…

I don’t call this confirmed yet, I am almost certain that Sarealac above is simply mistaken, which can happen quite easily.

Understand that the conan devkit is essentially the source code of the game… Sure, it’s incomplete and doesn’t have the base C++ code since the game is obviously not open-source, but pretty much all of the final features are built upon those in blueprints which is there.

Now some things are deliberately stripped out (like the basegame event system), which would make its absence “plausible”, but even those missing pieces have breadcrumbs and references scattered all around… The stuff that OP is talking about have none…

And sometimes we can even see part of the “future” things in development… for example I can tell you that tomorrow on the stream they will most likely announce barkeepers and patrons as new follower types so players can set up their own tavern.
These follower types were added months ago at the start of Age of War and while we wouldn’t know for sure when they would debut, we can see them evolving… and they did release a teaser with a barkeeper, so it’s most likely going to be now.

But there’s nothing even remotely related to the gods whispering players and telling them to fetch 10 weapons so that they can beat up Set and Zath who decided to team up :stuck_out_tongue: As cool as that sounds…

Plus, while I am just one person and can miss things, OP claims vanilla gameplay mechanics that they’re actually playing on the LIVE version of the game, they’re not even talking about hidden info in a devkit… so there’s no way someone else wouldn’t have noticed that.

I am absolutely not shocked in disbelief… I am calmly stating that most likely there has been some error in communication.
While I agree that this system sounds cool and people would probably like it, I think something totally different happened here.

There are several possibilities… the least likely one is that this is actually a thing in the LIVE game and somehow a SINGLE user is able to experience them, yet nobody else even heard of them…

The other more likely possibilities are that:

1: Sarealac relayed this to one of the developers, who then completely misunderstood the context as they’re most likely busy so they don’t read every single post in the thread…

They saw that the thread is talking about event strings… and they immediately thought about the basegame event system and how the game and the Funcom servers communicate with each-other to toggle these on and off and thought that players are asking to expose these so that they can toggle individual events on / off or somehow intercept them etc. (which is also what I thought this is about if you go back and read my first post in this thread)
So they gave a corresponding response that these are not meant for players and they won’t be exposed - which happens to be a completely accurate response in that misunderstood context.

2: The other possibility is that they actually made SOME of this internally… since their internal build is several updates ahead and they already know what’s going to be in the next age and the one after that…
So it could be that they did build something similar… and somehow thought that maybe some of this made it to the live build and this player was datamining it or something and got ahold of information from future updates :man_shrugging:
According to their own admission a lot of the developers actually don’t really know what’s in the current live game since they have various internal builds which are all ahead so it can get understandably confusing to keep track of what’s in which build version.

There’s obviously still the chance that I’m wrong and this is somehow hidden in the live game, in which case I wonder why it’s only available to one player, but hey at least we would have something new and cool in the game… but I highly doubt it… so this is not “shock and disbelief”, but more like assuming human error in communication.

As far as I’m concerned this is not “confirmed” in any way until either @den shows up here and says this is a thing AFTER reading the full thread or at least @Sarealac goes back to investigate in light of the new replies and context we gave them and then comes abck again to double-confirm… - in which case we can ask why is this only working for that one player  I’m sure a lot of other players would like whispers and quests from Mitra too.

And youre concerned with other spreading it:

If youre so concerned about the spread of misinformation, maybe stop contributing to it.

No, I commented because Funcom literally acknowledged the claim, and you refused to believe it. To me, knowing your stanace on several things over the years, your refusal to accept what Funcom said was funny to me. Thats not trolling in any way, shape or form.

Im not going to quote the rest of what you said to reply to it, but thats why I said I dont know if I believe the OP. It does sound like a stretch, although, I dont know how to read the games code, and I dont know if they have some of this stuff hidden away somewhere that us players and that modders simply cant see. And, until there is any clarification from Funcom, Ill go with what they said that this is indeed in there somewhere, for Funcom and not for us. If they correct their statements, then Ill change mine too.

Let’s call it “the mild annoyance when somebody doesn’t apply due diligance and thereby causes some negative impact”.

P. S.: Okay, to be honest: also, the Schadenfreude.

I want these eventstring thingies. They look awesome. Please enable them on my servers Funcom.

This is either an elaborate hoax or funcom is running a psyop

lol… maybe with the “it’s not for players” they meant that they built a game within the game  When Funcom employees go home they can log on to your servers and secretly mess with you pretending to be gods
