Well since everyone is providing feedback to Dennis’ letter, I will leave my two cents as well. I am reluctant to discuss the stamina changes at this point, as I have not played the testlive. However, there are 2 points of concern for me here, unrelated to stamina which I will make points on.
Thankyou very much @CodeMage for a well constructed post which is which very much mirrors my own sentiment.
If the way the devs want to incentivise us to re-run content is by relegating our hard earned rewards to timed buffs, then I am sorry, but I am verhemently opposed to this change. As I have recently said in another thread, many of the individual in-game legendary weapons have taken myself and other members months, or in some cases even years to obtain!
This change trivialises and invalidates the hard work players invested trying to procure these highly sought after items. So let me see if I understand this correctly. The prevailing logic to make players want to replay content here is to make players grind for 6 months to 2+ years for an items which will break a mere 2-3 weeks later!? Here is a radical idea: how about we instead direct attention to addressing the absurdly high levels of RNG which multitudes of players have been pleading for you to do for years now!
The second gripe I have is one not addressed in the letter, or the rebalances for the Age of War. What about our PETS? Pets already underperform in every conceivable way in comparison to thralls, to the extent that few among us would dare to take them into battle against higher tier enemies, or have them defending against purges. And now that enemies are dealing even more damage, pets are going to feel weaker than ever. So at this point they are little more than glorified ornaments or roleplay items, as opposed to strategic of viable content. If this is an Age of War, then could we maybe make them actually viable to use again in a war…? Juxtaposed to a home decoration. Otherwise when the new purge mechanics land, they are just going to have to be locked in our bases…again.
Yeah me too good buddy. End rant there.
