It might be about redoing the Sunday Night football (US not the true football played in the rest of the world) game the next Monday morning between friends.

I agree its subjective but lets just say in general effort put into content should = length of enjoyability (otherwise why would you develop long form content)

So we have 2 pieces of content, one with storyline, multiple bosses with different attack styles, multiple paths even to do the dungeon, custom landscape, sometimes custom voice acting and big bad at the end this is pretty much all dungeons and vaults.

I feel what they got right in siptah somewhat was the power of redoing a vault for more gains, but while it may be subjective how you feel on doing the content the effort gone into creating the content is not subjective.

so when you compare this content to world bosses which are basically just health sponge content its really night and day, I would not just like to see players effort for tackling more interesting content be rewarded but also developers for developing interesting content get more replayability.

Technically, if you play Age of War chpter 1, you will choose too as well. And really, ā€œpvp guysā€??? So you opened it, here you go, a raid pvp player, it would be nice to have 5% of the mechanic changes and content added over the 5 years of the game pve has gotten.

It basically means, when someone says the way someone else did something is wrong without having done it themselves under the pressure of performing. The ease of criticizing without the burden of possible failure. It’s called monday morning quarterbacking because people watch the game on the weekend and then talk all day monday about what the coach did wrong, what the quarterback did wrong, as if they could have won the game if they were playing/coaching.

To tighten it up a bit. It is overly criticizing an important decision that went wrong without offering a in depth reason why it went wrong. If a qb throws a late game interveption, it is okay to say that was a bad throw. it is monday morning qb to say The qb is an idiot or ā€œgarbageā€ because of that one mistake without adding to why they are and how that one throw adds to thay.

Read this post by forkyeah. It’s a great suggestion that doesn’t completely remove the RNG aspect but at least modifies it to be manageable. I hope more support can be shown for a change like this!

I like this very much. You have a real fighting spirit, and I wish you great success in your purge repulsion.

You say we chose to risk that. We chose to risk our fortresses in fair combat. Without our approval or knowledge in advance, RAID was instituted and never reconsidered. It led to the inevitable degradation of a nice playerbase and ultimately is what we have now: PvB. Or as I call it, PvMe. Playing vs myself.

In the old days we’d log in and wince at the screen for the inevitable ā€œyou were killedā€ and the gong and whistle and the crumble, and the sadness. That sound of failure, thanks to a thoughtfully hidden bedroll, as you log in to the ruins of your base.

My IceSpire Chasm base was raided while I was offline due to a local wildfire that killed the internet for around 18 hours. A legit excuse, but I’d picked a fight with these goons and they let me have it. I took it as a legit L. Now, it’s practically an artform to watch someone’s habits, then wait for them to go out on date night to raid them. Stinky Bad.

Those bad throws sting the worst I’m sure because the game often hangs in the balance.

It aleays does. Being the analytical idiot i am, i always like to watch and listen to the experts (commentators) break down what they saw. Be surprised how many interceptions are not 100% the throwers fault. There is route running techniques, timing of cuts on the route, reading the defenders position preplay that go into making a throw. Sometimes the reciever made a soft rounded turn when they should have made a hard plant and ā€œflatā€ cut. Sometimes they should have ran inside the defender at the beginning of the route, but instead went outside too much. Preplay the qb reads a certain coblberage scheme off of scouting reports and expects a defender to slide left, but instead the defneder dropped back deeper.

Why are you defending the developers in such an unreasonable manner? The truth is, the upcoming update that is just five days away doesn’t offer any substantial new content. It’s just a meaningless pile of gold that adds nothing to the game! Everything that came with the Age of Sorcery update, aside from the lazy addition of sorcery (which will now be unplayable), consisted of lazy and buggy cosmetics that were ridiculously overpriced compared to previous DLCs.

The new Chapter 1 of the Age of War brings absolutely nothing new, except for the unwanted and unnecessary stamina rework. As you mentioned in another post, people will play the update not because they like it, but because there simply isn’t any other game like Conan Exiles in the entertainment market. Unfortunately, most of my 20+ friends who play this game have already started losing interest because everything we enjoyed, such as progressing with pets, companions, and crafting, has been destroyed by the developers who refuse to listen to player feedback.

If this update is released as it currently stands, not only will I stop playing the game, but the majority of my friends have already tested the beta and migrated to other games over the past two weeks. The anxiety caused by witnessing the state of the beta was too much for them to bear.

A lot of people here had REAL Construtive Critics but this will change nothing because they only want to make money with DUNE that i hope Floppys so hard that they sell funcom for another company

For months i see people give feedback that was never heard.

I bought a Zombie Rhino that is bugged since implementation and they never and will never fix because they only want more and more money for less work and you that are the users that protect then are the reason that there is so much broken this in the market

I don’t remember if I said it in this thread (I think I did) but I actually suggested that Legendaries be removed from world bosses entirely. The reason being is I’ve never really seen them as enough of a challenge to warrant them dropping such weapons or the keys to such weapons. The idea was that key bosses (with the chests next to them) would still be present. But instead of being a boss encounter, they would be sort of a resource pinata. Maybe they have around I dunno 7000-10000 health tops (maybe less, just throwing a number out there) and they don’t have any loot table (like any other animal/moster). But when harvested they give a bunch of materials, more so than Elite encounters do. Kind of an option for those combat oriented folks who want to resource gather. The other bosses (like Unnamed City) would drop Epic level weapons and loot and some resources. Something worth going for.

So you have a reason to farm these encounters, but there’s no -need- to do so. And when you do farm them it doesn’t feel like a chore. And the part I really like about it is the idea of giving people who don’t like to ā€˜smack rocks’ a way to farm resources in their own way. Age of War isn’t Age of Mining after all.

As for where legendaries come from. Dungeon bosses. And I would love to see these all get an overhaul. Make those encounters pretty unique. Not just HP sponges like you said. I think everyone can agree with that fact at least. HP sponges suck.

His voice matters just as much as yours does (in this case him being an accomplished modder gives him insights that most of you do not). If he finds the systems fun, then they are fun for him. That doesn’t become false simply because you don’t like what he likes. The actual adult thing for an individual to do is not to group think, echo chamber, and ride a bandwagon.

When have i said that his voice doesn’t matter?
I just Reply to him what he said ā€œIt basically means, when someone says the way someone else did something is wrong without having done it themselves under the pressure of performing.ā€
I don’t care who he is and i will not because that not how the world rolls! As i said It is his job to do things and perform, the company to lead in a way of profit and us to be entertainment!
If people said that they tested the beta and they don’t think this game is going in the way they like they WILL quit!
At the end of the day it doesn’t matter to see the side of the dev that have to perform because i as the user don’t care and shouldn’t!
If the dev is being abused in anyway is problem of the law and not the user, even thoou the user as happened to blizzard decided to stop givin money to the company because of the way they treat ther devs but this is a possibility and not a fact!
We are talking about games and not morality and this is how business work! Sorry!

Because someone asked what Monday Morning Quarterbacking is…

You mean the same as taking one’s toys and going home… clearly the adult thing to do…

Yes, as in, do the changes lead to larger player numbers and increases in revenue. I will point out again that this conversation reminds me of heavy roll, animation cancelling, new monetization, thrall nerfs, stuff I have forgotten and what has always happened? More average players… I leave the business case to Funcom.

Except for the tiny fact that you’re not getting paid for your mods so they’re not even remotely comparable :stuck_out_tongue: well… at least I’m not lol… if you have some secret mod vending machine, by all means! share! :money_mouth_face:

But yes, the changes make the game easier…

Funny thing… most people focus on the stamina bit and maybe haven’t even noticed that wildlife overall has been nerfed to the ground as a ā€œside-dishā€ā€¦ you wan walk up straight north and punch a wolf in the mouth till he rolls over as they now only have 405 HP and barely any armor  And the boars that USED to have that 400 HP, now have like 179 or some weird number like that…
Armor overall has been nerfed for almost everything… and anything that’s not humanoid also kinda got a damage nerf… instead of a buff like they said they would…

Are you going to recant that?

I will not continue to argue here because while some are giving construtive critics and talking about how the game could improve and how the Developer letter show the a bad view of the dev in relation to the feedback others are here just to continue with the talk of ā€œWe shouldn’t give our opinions about the beta because at the long run they probably know what they are doingā€ and that is agains the goals of the forum that is to give feedback and have a channel for the user to show the devs what they want!

Really? :open_mouth:
My mods cumulatively have over 150k subscribers even though they’re less than a year old, which means most of those people who got them are actually active and not ones who quit long ago  And I added some donate buttons for the sake of it too, but full disclosure… only 4-5 people have ever pressed those.

In my experience, people rather get the mods for free and then pay the 10 dollars to Funcom for an extra placaeble instead lol. Though who knows, maybe it’s different for others (though I’m skeptical, I think it’s just a hobby for all the even more popular ones too aside from the occasional ā€œpaid comission projectsā€, but I don’t usually get involved with those  )

In any case this is not a complaint or anything, I just think a lot of modders overestimate that part of things and I’ve seen some of them very quickly quit once they realized that
(Or who knows  maybe they’re making a bank and I’m here in the dark helping them with their mods for free lol.)

Anyway, that’s all off-topic, I just wanted to make a point on this, since you compared modders making money from players to Funcom making money.

(Personally I just did my modding because I needed something to focus my ā€œadhdā€ on and saw some ā€œholesā€ in the available mods that I would’ve personally liked to have as well, plus I get all excited when I can tell people to try them and they like it haha)

Yea, kinda sad… It does seem like they have all the right intentions alongside the ā€œotherā€ intentions, but they never have enough time / resources to follow through properly.
