Can't believe the state of this game

So i thought i’d do one of the dragged out Freya missions to finally get it over with. Not that simple. First my PS5 controller inputs stopped working once again, seems to happen when interacting with Freya. Quick log out and back in, controls are working but now the view is tilted to the right. Logged out and back in, no change. Restarted the whole game, nothing. Didn’t want to waste any more time so i went on like that. I arrive at Asgard where Freya was waiting. We go and fight but all of a sudden Freya decides to run away. There i am, surrounded from all sides getting rubberbanded back in the middle of five fighters no matter how i try to roll away. I died. Respawn, view still tilted. Restart, view STILL tilted. And on top of that now i have to go out again, try to find Freya and see if i can finally do the mission.

Why would you think that anyone would go through all of this more than once unless Freya is the best fighter by a long shot? Which i strongly doubt. I have a feeling the fighters i already have are either the same or better but we’ll see if i manage to get Freya at some point. So far the update has been as expected, weak. There’s no longevity in content like this.

Oh, wait until you get her…
Weaker than a Cimmerian Berzerker and her special perks simply don’t happen if you are in a clan.
Or randomly she just doesn’t have them.

Companions as a system were buggy at roll out. Wait until next chapter is this one’s suggestion. Perhaps after six months of patches they will have got the first batch servicable.

After playing the game since 2019, bugs have become the expectation with every patch. When you make enough money selling a broken product, why fix it. Maybe Funcom believes that selling a broken product is the magic formula that keeps their business operational.
Last patch has positive reviews on steam, a patch that took double the time to release and it’s main features are now disabled indefinitly. Players literally said “awesome patch” after getting their thralls deleted from the game.

Honestly I wonder about the playerbase sometimes.
With Age of Heroes the forums exploded with complaints about all the glitches and how people were losing hard-earned Tier 4 thralls left and right. Living settlements was - and by all accounts still is - a completely useless patch since you have to completely disable it to not lose your valuable thralls and still risk losing them if you forget to “Disable Thrall Use” on a campfire or something when you place one.

Yet you still have people praising it, saying “they don’t care about the bugs they love the new living thralls”. Umm, how @%#$ing clueless or ultra-casual do you have to be not to notice that all your crafter thralls are disappearing?
Or are these people playing in single-player and just respawning thralls each time they disappear?

Go and read Steam reviews, it feels like folks live in another reality

I’ve got RL things to get done before winter sets in, but soon I’ll have too much time to play. Not sure it will be Conan exiles.
