Cant Create Right Golem Arm

I am hoping somebody can help.

I am trying to create a Iron Guardian Maul Arm. I created the empty arm and a steel warhammer as instructed(yes, it’s steel warhammer and not iron) but when I go to combine them, the warhammer is greyed out on the little summary panel on the bottom right. Just to confirm, both items are in the workbench inventory and the summary panel recognizes the arm is there, just not the steel warhammer.

I dont know what this means, but my crafted steel warhammer has a yellow border on the corners of it’s icon.

Any suggestions? TIA

Take the left arm, place it on the table, add the Maul, and create the maul arm.

The arm magically turns into a right arm.

I’m pretty sure that yellow border means it’s the “perfected” version of the warhammer that you can get from completing a journey, and I believe the golem table requires the normal, nothing special, non-epic version.

Thanks everyone for the tips. Working on Golum number 3

How do I craft the normal version? I cant unlearn my journeys, can I?

Edit: I havent completed the Hardened Steel journey. I suppose I should skip that one if I ever hope to craft crystaline arms, SMH

That’s not how it works. You can have all the different versions learned at the same time.

You just spend feat points to learn the feat for it like any other, then use a blacksmith bench to craft it. What you’re looking for is the plain version with an icon that doesn’t have those yellow or purple corners.

You might have to use a normal or improved version of the blacksmith bench though. I’m not sure if the normal recipes show up in the grandmaster benches.

I’m actually having the same problem. The table isn’t registering the steel Warhammer.

It looks like the Steel Warhammer was modded. Try to craft one that doesn’t have the highlighted corners on the icon.

It’s the only selection

It’s from the journey

You have to learn the actual Steel Warhammer recipe from the “Bruiser” knowledge under weapons (costs 7 points). You can’t use the Perfected Steel recipes you get for free from the journey step.

Thats dumb

In addition to what @Megaton238 said, and as mentioned earlier, you might have to use a regular blacksmith bench to craft it. The grandmaster benches only show the elite and perfected recipes.

Both say “Steel Warhammer.” The one needed for the Golem arm does c. 31 damage and the perfected feat from the journey does 38.

That worked but there going to need to be limits to gold. My PS5 was stuttering with all 5 golem going

It has to be the base model hammer found out yesterday he gathered iron ore rocks and crystal so far. @thurgond

LOL - So glad to see that someone else had also problem with this. I think it should really be described in better way, cause for people can be confusing the fact, that they can put every part of body to the assembly and only right arm not, to the addition that all arms have “left arm description”.

This is my own post from before:

And about the yellow cornered weapons - Also made this mistake with creating fighter crystalline guard and I crafted the bonus greatsword, which is also named a greatsword - in the recipe it says you need crystalline arm and hardened steel greatsword…

In fact you need the arm and hardened steel TWO HANDED SWORD, both just have the same icon and require same amount of resources. :woman_shrugging: It’s confusing and sure it’s mistake.

And @erjoh, your problem is that you can not craft the normal steel warhammer in improved blacksmith bench, another mistake I guess. You need to build normal, basic blacksmith bench to craft the right simple weapon for your golem harvester. None of the yellow cornered items work for those purposes.
