Can't share bazaar items via family sharing in Steam?

So I just noticed that sharing bazaar items via Steam family sharing is now disabled?
I remember there was no such problem in the past with DLCs etc?

Why?

I use several accounts to act as NPCs on my server and why would I have to buy same armour for each of my accounts separately?

Really?

Family members playing Conan on the same PC can’t share items purchased by funds from common household budget? Wow…

Now I’m really pissed off.

Is there a mod that works around it? Please PM me if there is…

Bazaar items and battle pass items are treated differently. You also do not have access to your bazaar and battle pass items off line. DLCs are bought through steam, the battle pass and bazaar items are bought through the game. There is no mod around it, and as far as I know was set up like this on purpose.

You are just now noticing this when this change was made with the 3.0 update that was a year ago?

Yes I heard that you can no longer give items to your server friends if they did not purchase them, but blocking family share on Steam is a step too far. It’s still me, on the same PC, on the same copy of Conan…

Now they are forcing me to experiment with mods to find a way around.

How about allowing us to have multiple characters on the same server Funcom?
It’s pain in the ass anyway to be forced to keep restarting Steam to switch between your characters on your own private server.

That was my point, family share is through steam, like the DLCs, so can be shared. The battle pass and bazaar items are though the game, not part of the family sharing.

The only way around it wouldn’t be called a mod.

There is a mod, MultiChar, that allows you to have multiple characters per server.

Yes I guess I will have to look at it again.
I stopped using it as I had problems with character body textures loading with this mod, also the alt characters are not visible for Pippi.

No way I am buying x-copies of same items just to be able to switch characters.

The alt characters should be seen by Pippi if they are the ones logged in. I think it goes by SteamID so it can only see the current one at a time. Pippi’s offline character visibility I think was always somewhat experimental (can’t see quests and stuff, even with true other players, for example). We recently installed it on our current server and haven’t had any problems with it. Good luck though!

Which one do you currently use?
There seems to be Multichar and Multichar Reloaded, both point to the same Discord server in their description.

Reloaded is the one that is currently being maintained and actively developed by WaffleButter so I would recommend that one.

All DLC, Bazaar, Battle Pass items and Twitch Drops should be trade able if you ask me…

This was a stupid change, and I mentioned this before I’m not happy with this change.

DLC and Twitch drops were trade able before even… now they’re not.
I don’t even see why they changed this, this must be such a low value of income. It also devalues the value for players that own the items…

I hate account bound itemization.

Yes it’s anti-community. You’re giving the item to someone but it’s unavailable to them. It’s immersion breaking.
Just being unable to craft an item is enough to make someone go and buy “the licence”, but removing ability to share, while it was there once is some bullshit politics.

I’d be happy either by being able to share that stuff via family share or being able to have multiple characters on the same server.

The mod works, but in Pippi it shows my new Multi Char level 1 charatcer as my main character level 60 etc… So it’s kind of buggy.
But it has to do…

Thanks everyone :wine_glass:

I agree. I spend a ton of money in the bazaar items and I can’t even share them with my son because he was a different PSN account. It was a greed driven choice, but I doubt Funcom can do squat about it. We all know who calls the shots in that regard. He has his own PS5, copy of the game and all DLCs, but buying stuff from the bazaar in double for the little he plays is out of the question.

DLC are Steam items. Bazaar items are handled by Microsoft PlayFab. The latter has no family share.

Yep. Another peve I have is not being able to use Battle Pass or Bazaar content while offline. I can use my DLCs offline, so why on earth shouldnt I be able to use the other items which I purchased offline!? Changinging the rules 5 years after the games release is just horrible.

It’s BS…
If it was made to make more then they are going to make less as I won’t be buying stuff for my alts anymore and I will just use dyed vanilla items.

It’s even better that they have this odd rotation mechanism on the bazaar as otherwise I would have bought multiple items in bulk (I planned on creating an alt sorcerer in bazaar outfit, some bazaar decorations for his chamber, and to buy several sets of outfits for his decoration-thralls in the said chamber.

I could not buy it all thanks to item rotation (thanks Crom!) xD
So I bough only the outfit and saw I can’t give it to my other character.

The greedy loses twice indeed…

I agree, if it was like that all the time, ok. But it was not like this and this pissed me off.

There are ways around. Select no ownership in the admin settings, place your thrall in whichever armour you want wherever you want.

You can even build whatever you want.

Anyway I decided to not use the mod, it hasn’t been recooked in a long time despite devs asking to recook the mods to the latest versions of the devkit. Also the creator seems to not know about how their mod behaves in various situations, so too many red flags.

What I’ve been really trying to do is to create cool looking NPCs to occasionally login onto their accounts, and RP with the players, give them a quest etc.
I looked at wonderful mods like Exiles Extreme or Shadows of Skelos, these are full of c00l stuff I can use. And if I leave them admin-only then the result is going to be even better as the NPC will really stand out on the server.
Using bazaar items does not guarantee that some other player wont arrive in the very same set of clothing.
And I need my RP-NPCs to stand out.

So yeah, I’m not pissed off anymore
