Is anyone else having this problem with their sorcery can’t update the book in the table

First question with anything related to sorcery: Are you over-encumbered?

Excellent point. Not something one would think would affect book-reading - especially if one is used to playing with a harvesting build with which Encumbrance doesn’t usually bother you.

It’s probably an unintended interaction, but as long as there’s an easy way around it (just dump your stuff into a container), it’s probably not very high on the list of things to fix.
