The new map contains many small caves - which is great. However, some of these can only be partially built in. The area around the entrance to the cave (maybe 2 or 3 foundations in) can be built in, then any attempt to build in the remainder produces the “building is inside collision” error. I found that in one cave, if I built in the entrance, then waited for a server reset, I became able to build in the rest of the cave, but this is not true in all caves.
I’m not talking about a land claim issue - I am not getting that message. I have tried building in different ways, higher, lower, etc. Nothing works. There is just an area which is off limits for building.
