Certain Players cannot connect to dedicated server


I have a dedicated server, with a number of mods.

One of my players cannot connect to the dedicated server, despite having been able to do so last week, until yesterday. They’ve followed many of the suggestions from the Funcom forums, mainly (but not limited to):

  • Verify game installation
  • Reinstall Battleye (the executable from the Conan Exiles battleye folder)
  • Restart Steam
  • Restart PC
  • Reset modem
  • Direct connect from server list
  • Selecting the server from the list, if it appears
  • Connecting to a single-player game, a different server, and then attempting to connect to ours.
  • Unsubscribing and re-subscribing to mods

They have not been able to sign in since they were kicked from the server a few days ago. They do not appear in the blacklist. I do not have whitelist enabled. They do not appear as online in the game.db file, nor on the Pippi pannel in-game.

When I look at the logs while they’re connecting, I see many instances of:

LogNet: NotifyAcceptingConnection accepted from: xx.xxx.xx.xxx:xxxxx
LogHandshake: SeoncConnectChallenge. Timestamp xxxxx.xxxxxx, Cookie: [some random numbers]

This spams the logs for some time.

The player has told me that direct connect times out, while connecting via the server results in a load screen, but the loading bar just stops moving. Additionally, the ping shows in the 9999 range, when it does show up in the list.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Their use of a VPN seems to have solved it for now.
