Greetings,
chapter 4 is right after door, but usualy past experience we have with game, each chapter update bring earlier some issues to players. To be prepared and minimalize some unpredicted problems there i write my solutions i plan to take before patch.
Try move coffers/crafting stations with most valuable items and place them on another type fundation than nemedian - past bugs make most buildings in nemedian style crumble after patch.
Login to each server You play minimum 1 day before patch to refresh decay not only for buildings but also for thralls - past experience from AoW chapter 2 that change thrall decay timer to 1 day after patch have mark in memory of all players who not login day before patch, and price for that was lost of all thralls and pets.
Day before patch enter bazar store and make sure to make screenshoot of Your current crom coins and sreenshoot of lately bought crom coins from steam - experience from AoW chapter 3 make many players got banned from bug “negative crom coins balance” and thanks to that time spend from sending tickets to resolve problems in monday-friday work time, make some players lost their bases thanks to decay. Be preapared and have screenshoot ready to send if same problem occur again.
As fellow player who love play Conan Exiles i advice above steps from experience that i was caught in previous chapters realeases.
FC should be ashamed of themselves. We shouldn’t even have to consider such actions.
Also, none of those suggestions will be helpful if we get other, new bugs.
If they can “delete” our amount of cc, they could “delete” our characters too…“by accident”…
We simply can’t prepare for infinite possibilities of screwups and breakdowns.
To be fair Deacon has a point there…
While some of these things can happen again under the right circumstances… it’s not something you can “prepare” for and it could simply happen with a different variation where your “preparation” does nothing… so given that context it sounds a bit more like a PTSD fearmongering list (no offense meant, I get where it’s coming from)
But, to give it some context:
That wasn’t actually a bug They resized the nemedian foundation since the size was off all this time… and that was the side-effect that existing buildings lost stability… probably should’ve tested it on existing buildings a bit more or even temporarily adjusted the stability system for it…
In any case, that is over and done with so it won’t happen again, unless they do the same thing again… but if they next choose to adjust the idk… arena foundations… and they do it in the same manner… then preparing for it by moving things from your nemedian foundations would obviously not prevent that. I’m guessing they learned from that.
This one is similar… decay timers are entered manually whenever they change from one length to another and most likely entered in one place and then distributed to all servers via a script / tool… it’s actually defined in seconds and the config values also add a bunch of decimal places… so the default of 15 days looks like this… ThrallDecayTime=1296000.000000. Most likely the person entering the value missed the decimal location…
In this case though it’s not bad advice to log in before decay time changes are in order, thou that doesn’t necessarily coincide with patches.
With this one I’m not sure… Normally in cases like this common sense dictates that such screenshot would be worthless… It’s the equivalent of me going into the bank with a picture of money and telling them I had that much Photos can be altered… could be somoene elses account etc.
So I wouldn’t count on them putting too much weight on the presence of the screenshot, they would verify your actual purchases in their system instead even without a screenshot.
In any case that also was a one-time bug (hopefully one-time) as they made adjustments to the system, however I strongly disapprove of that tactic entirely… imo. they should NEVER lock you out of the basegame for something related to the cosmetic microtransaction purchases… if they want to lock you out of something, they could revoke your bazaar entitlements so you can’t use those items (same as people who didn’t purchase it) and simply lock you out of the bazaar until you resolve the issue… but actually BANNING and telling you that you’re banned… it’s crazy
Of course bugs and unfortunate changes that tigger unwanted situations to players in ocassions of previous chapters may not occur. There can be new bugs/errors/misclicks for which above advices will be worthless, also there can be perfect chapter release without any problems where same advices are not needed, but i prefer to blow on the cold.
If I was afraid of what might and could go wrong in a world of possibilities… body vaulting all my stuff during a change to the personal inventory would be last on that list… just gonna throw that out there.
The most important preparation for a new update is probably to numb yourself mentally and lock up any anticipation in the cellar. This time I won’t let it put me in a bad mood. Although I firmly believe that the new Battle Pass Exp system will be totally buggy because it couldn’t be tested on the PBC.
We go to the officials every Wednesday and Saturday to stop decay.
We have too much cool stuff after playing for all these years. Been trying to find someone to take our bases so we can leave.
Modded we play one each day, and the other two every other weekend.
They are back up so if one server goes down, we can switch to another and keep playing.
I’ve played since the first time Conan exiles was on sale for $20; think it was the first big update; .0?.
I’ve played through once EOG.
Done everything in game 5 or 6 times; well not the AoW stuff.
Restarted a dozen times or so.
Took a long hiatus while I got deep off in to BRs.
Came back for 3.0 AoS. Started back on a server I had been on so already 60th, but had all those journey steps to do, and the battle pass challenges.
Playing on testlive as well, been wiped a couple times.
Some people play to get and show off goodies, that’s not me. I’m goal oriented, it’s not the prize it’s the completion. If I oops and miss a check in on live while doing test, oh well. Go server surfing to find a public server not pretty much owned by some privileged player.
Journey steps to do again, leveling to do, battle pass to do, building to do.
Now if I’m running along and come to a base with dragon heads in rows as tight as you can pack them I’m not impressed, and I am judging you.
The above two replies are great examples of those who dont like how others play the game. Remember, not everyone plays the same and does the same things. Its ok to have different playstyles.
To the OP, its actually a good idea to take some precautionary steps to insure saving the best of the best you got. Sure, some/most of the old issues involving lost items have been fixed, but new ones will happen. Im sure there was a time when we could say “theres no way one particular type of building piece will just dissapear!” or “its not possible to be falsely banned by buying crom coins”…but here we are. Who knows what accidental bugs could happen in the future.
Okay… I’ll bite… seeing as one of those two replies is mine… and this is ALL it says:
Tell me… dear Nemisis… which part of that did you draw this magnificent conclusion from that I somehow dislike how someone else plays? was it the “It’s” or the “okay”?
(Also… they’re clearly NOT playing there… which was the whole context there )
Hes got nice bases with years of irreplaceable items on an official server. Meh, dude just lose it all! Who cares, its pixels right?
To some people, you cant replace those legacy items. They have a story behind them. They mean something to people. They dont want to lose that.
Its ok if that doesnt matter to you. You can just mod it and play it on your private server. Want a basic truncheon that one taps all thralls? Just mod it! Want some placeable Vathos fighters (I hope I spelled that right lol) Mod it and play with them!
To those that only want to play on officials, those things cant be replaced, and they feel they are worth saving. Thats their playstyle. You dont have to like or even agree with it because it has no bearing on you or your playstyle. His reply to you could very well be “Dont worry about it, you go stick to your private servers”
You quote his playstyle and reply with how you dont like it and then explain how you play.
Cool beans, then this topic really doesnt have much importance to you, since you dont care about if something happens and you lose items. Did you just come in to disagree with a playstyle?
