Characters snap in/out of animations, when multiple actors with cloth physics active nearby

When there are several actors present, with cloth physics enabled (hair and/or clothing), they will snap in/out of their animation sequence as the cloth physics LOD is enabled/disabled. The player is no exception, and will suddenly stop playing any animation for an instant as cloth physics is toggled on/off for the player and nearby actors.

This occurs for any actor, and player characters are no exception.

Please provide a step-by-step process of how the bug can be reproduced. The more details you provide us with the easier it will be for us to find and fix the bug:

  1. Have several actors with cloth physics nearby
  2. Wear equipment and/or have hair (cloth physics is applied to hair)
  3. Sprint past the actors for 10-20 seconds to consistently see the animation snapping

I discovered a very poor workaround. In Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Config\DefaultGame.ini increase the setting MaxClothSimuatingActors=. Unfortunately, having too many active (tested with a value of 50) causes the game to stutter when cloth physics is being toggled on/off for nearby actors. Default is 8.

So by having more actors with cloth physics, you are less likely to notice the cloth physics being toggled on/off. Keep in mind, this absolutely isn’t a fix.
