Hi,
I would like to suggest something about the game; however, these suggestions will be new things, but would be amazing!
Charcoal Furnace
Trading Center or Thrall, etc.
I think these two new buildings will be good to fit the game genre; the only thing to get Coal to mine it, but Charcoal will be useful, too.
The trading issue is the important one, because people need to trust each other to trade resources and anything else. However, if there is a trading centre, people can trade anything with trust. And there is a fee for trader NPCs to make a good economy in the game. It may work like Auction House in MMORPGs.
Bests,
Though I rarely have issues collecting resources, Trading center is a solid idea.
Hey! Collecting resources are not an issue, right, but charcoal, too is not a bad idea.
What would be the purpose of charcoal? Just another fuel option in a game that has several? Trading Post is done on a lot of private servers with the Pippi mod. I don’t play on servers anymore, but I could see where that would be a nice addition to the game.
Yes, charcoal can be another useful resource to turn wood. So, we can stop spending wood, fibre, branch, or etc, to spend them on good other options. Because I think in the late game, charcoal and coal will be a good duo. However wood, fibre, branch can be useful in early games.
By the way, it is not the thing to add new resource. We can build a charcoal furnace to make coal by heating wood, so this can turn them to coal, too. I know that charcoal is looks like a new resource, but it shouldn’t be like a new resource, but a new way to make coal.
Charcoal is made from wood. Coal is dug from mines.
The time needed to harvest wood and then convert that into charcoal…, I mean finding coal nodes isn’t too difficult as is to find and it would be quicker to just make coal runs in most cases than it would be to chop wood and convert it to charcoal. Charcoal as a byproduct from production of some things (such as if you were to smelt using wood or sticks) though might make sense in much the same way as tar is a byproduct.
Still, adding an extra fuel source to a game that already has loads of fuel sources seems a little excessive.
Yes, I know it, too. If there is a furnace to make charcoal, too, that would be good. That’s all I am saying.
