Claws/PunchDaggers; Buff Needed?

First let me say, I fell in love with this game a week or so ago when I made a server for my friends and I and first met Conan, stranded and left for dead. That being said I don’t have 1000 hours of game time and it has all been PvE.

I also loved my bone claws and then the punch daggers. But when I was online I keep reading about how bad they are in almost every way by comparison to any other weapon. Am I wrong in loving them so much? Should they get a buff? How would you buff them? Why does my gruel taste like pork when we have no boars?

At any rate, I just want to see these agility weapons become popular and more effective. I’ll continue to use them, gimped or not, but would love for them to be competitive with the other options.

How far you can go with oar and bone claws?

So I take a few days off the forums, and Stelagel manages to complete the whole game in the meantime, using only rubbish gear. These challenges are really refreshing; there are so many ways to play the game, and too often we tend to get fixated on the “optimal” way to play. Stelagel finds more new, interesting, entertaining and challenging ways to play than the rest of us combined. I think we could all learn something from his positive flavor of madness. Also, I totally agree about the albino …

… I have to say that i felt this “love” for claws either.
Yes claws and punch daggers are a bit “underrated” from users but their animation is unique, beautiful and satisfying for the user. On exile lands map the specific item has very low quantity so it doesn’t give a good motive to the user to continue his - her progress with this weapon. Then it doesn’t accept upgrades, so what you see is what you get.
I believe that we should have more legendary weapons from skull key chests. Not only on punch daggers, but on short swords and great axe too.
Siptah is this way however and it expands the quantity of double blades too. Whirlwind blades, or havoc and malice are weapons you must try too, it’s madness, super cool.
But jhebbal sag claws and double blades from the very beginning were special weapons. Rare to gain or fix, so you couldn’t start with them and love them too. It’s true that to love a weapon, you should be starting from the very beginning with it, to help you progress and feel attached to it.
So they changed the animation of the claws and gave you the chance to play with them from the very beginning. Reading your post one thing comes in to my mind, success! If more people, new players, will arrive here asking the same as you do i believe they will focus more in these weapons too.

Yea, I actually just got my first BP from the Archive… it was Havoc and Malice xD
I’m waiting on my lotus potion to respec right now, and then I’ll try to figure out how to make them. I haven’t even made hardened steel, so it’ll be a bit off.

At any rate, I’d love to see more updated Agility weapons/buffs for them/. Was also looking at the Katana. The swift Draw ability is suuuuper smooth looking.

I’m waiting on my lotus potion to respec right now, and then I’ll try to figure out how to make them.

Please don’t respec with yellow lotus potions. You loose knowledge recipes piece by piece.
If you want more feat points eat fragments of power!
If you need to change your attributes use the bestial potion. In order to gain the knowledge for this head to this map location

And he will teach you midnight alchemy

Knowing midnight alchemy you solve various issues of the game, plus if you fix the potion he sells you can travel to learn the religion of jhebbal sag and you can easily farm various pets like Saber tooths for example.
If you use fragments for library knowledge recipes, once you’ll get the tablet of power you can fix them to fill all to cover the feat gaps you have. Until you learn the tablet, consume fragments and don’t respec again with yellow lotus potions, they are harmful.
