Hello fellow players,

I am a member of the Conan Exiles Allies group.

If you have not already seen what we are about click on the link.

As with our goals we are also trying to engage in positive actions.

A letter is in the early stages of draft to Rui Casais. Mr. Casais is the Chief Executive Officer of Funcom.

The purpose of this letter is to communicate with Mr. Casais on our viewpoints as a player community; an ask for consideration to encourage success of our beloved game. A hope to get a more stable game client and for us all to enjoy the amazing experience of which is Conan Exiles.

I would like to clarify, while we do not and cannot represent the entirety of the Conan Exiles player community, we do liken ourselves as advocates in spirit; we are collaborating. With that said, the more of us there are the stronger our group will be. So come join us!

Discord is our place of collaboration at the moment. It can be iffy for some and that has been taken into consideration, so once the letter has been further hammered out we will post it here on the forums for review and feedback as well.

I would disagree there. The financial trouble they got into in 2017-2018 was one of labor of love. Without CE success, FC would have died. We all know that. That isn’t something done with people targeting profits only.

Yes FC has new ownership but they maintain the same leadership in the running of the company. I suspect that these guys are wanting to give players what they want but also try to attract new players (which can and typically does conflict with maintaining current players …the whole ‘this game is too easy now’) while ensuring the owners are getting their share.
No one wants a dead game. We all share that.
The players want to play. The company wants to continue working. The owners want return of the investment. From this commonality, we should be able to gain ground…IF we are to accept all of these things need to happen and we cooperate with the goals of each.

I’m an Xbox player that came into the game in 2018 and have witnessed the growing pains. Go back and watch some of the old videos (I recommend Neebs gaming) and see the early Conan. I love this game and has a sentimental place in my heart. A place to escape to while my mother was in hospice. I still play as an escape and entertainment especially during Covid. I hope “they” realize that the passionate ones who yell into the void want this game to succeed but at current rate that is coming into question. In my mind a successful business grows by way of customer base and loyalty to the product. Do they see that both are being stretched thin? I truly believe this game can survive and thrive. I want it around for others to enjoy and escape to.

In general, business people want to make money.
If one can speak to them in terms that are relevant, they may listen.
While Tencent generally has a light hand, we can have no full knowledge of what and why goes on behind the scenes.
This game was a labour of love that was rewarded with a positive reception and financial salvation.

This one liked the game.
This one wants to like it again.
Also, the offerings in the Bazaar are beautiful (if incomplete). But this one will not purchase accessories for a game that become less and less enjoyable to play. A game that becomes less and less stable.
Why buy new dresses for the dolls if they are just going to be randomly deleted? (While at it, why punish the people playing with dolls by making colouring the dress more burdensome and obnoxious?)
Why buy new blocks to build with when the foundations devour the player character and followers?
Why purchase new anything when one is locked out of the game and it takes a week and a half to get any response about that?
Why reward empty promises with coin?

If nothing else, a business person may want their goose to keep laying golden eggs. At least until the heir to the gilded coop is in place.

But by this point, is the question what can be done to convince someone to simultaneously give the dev team the resources they need to release stable update in a timely fashion and also improve customer care and communication… Or is the question how to convince those who make such decisions not to just send the game to the glue factory?
While the dev for the game obviously still has ambition… It is obvious they are utterly starved for resources and cannot reliably deliver on even the relaxed schedule with the tools available. It’s very convenient to hate on someone when there is a name attached to an issue… But is that even vaguely fair? For all this own knows there is literally only one person working the main game code and two people making assets for the MTX.

Give them the tools to deliver so that this one can then purchase with confidence.
Please give this one some indication that their commerce is even vaguely desired.

I’m half numb and half hopeful. After everything I’ve experienced it’s a wonder I am still around. But, if I’m going to go down, it will be kicking and screaming “nicely” ^^

Yes, this seems to be the overall sentiment. Despite being told new staff were hired - we don’t know where these people were assigned - it feels that quality of the product has waned tremendously.

Agree.
