Communication, the art of understanding

The birth of modern civilisation started with the ability to communicate…

Which includes listening to a question and responding to that question.
Not throwing back some scripted stement that has no bearing on the issue…

The guys question wasn’t about patch release date, but about experience gained from building. Is it out or is it back in, or is it still under discussion.

No offense guys, but sometimes I think Siri would make a better moderator… she listens, she’s funny… just ask her what 0/0 is…

I understand that moderating what might seem to you a bunch of toddlers feels like being an underpaid nanny…
Thing is, i am sure that others like myself would love it if you guys just jumped in the banter at times and got to know us…

Like you, I work in retail, and if we tossed people to the curb for an f word, or an insult, a racist comment… we’d be out of business…
But thankfully I live in Australia where any insult is fixed with another one…
True story…
Arab customer; fn asians can’t drive…
Sales guy with 40 years exp; at least they don’t wear towels on their head or they’d have an excuse…
Customer laughs and ends up buying the 150k car…

Chill.

I don’t understand the point of creating this topic. Ignasis directly answered the other person’s post in the screenshot you posted.
The question: will building xp be fixed soon?
Answer: it is fixed on testlive and will go to live soon. And provided a link to the most up to date information they had posted officially on when it would go to live.

PS: Tascha, Jens, Ignasis and Nicole have all posted with banter in a variety of posts. This is their work place and they operate within their company guidelines as well as within what their personalities and professionalism indicate they should.

You see, I can live without all the improvements they made on testlive. This game was good for me as it was - but it IS NOT good without building exp that always had been there and vanished into the thin air one day. I’m not a killer but a builder, a crafter and a researcher, so today I literally get NO EXP for my playing style - almost no exp for discoveries as well. I’ve got very-very tired of being 30+ so I’ve almost stopped to play. I’ve planned to build a couple of big bases in T3 but don’t want to lose materials with no exp for it so I’m just waiting-waiting-waiting. Almost 3 months passed. I know that there is Multigan’s mod for exp - but mods can not work with DLC things - and there are no mods on official servers and consoles too. This issue should be addressed ASAP, not pinned to any testlive patch. It completely spoils the game for many people. After that Funcom may work with the new functions and mechanics as long as they need, but GIVE ME MY BUILDING EXP.

Absolutely I agree with you that the lack of experience for building should have been fixed weeks ago. Back when the bug was first acknowledged I posted with an @ to Ignasis to please take it to the developers that fixing the lack of exp should be a priority before heading into the Christmas break … but sadly they had a different viewpoint on it and incorporated into the next patch which has been substantially delayed.

Ignasis didn’t answer it at all. He deflected the question…
Then closed it…
But it’s ok… I just discovered they are Norwegian… which explains a lot…

A friend who lived there for 12 years told me, it’s ok to talk about t!ts, but if you make a joke involving t!ts your a pervert…
A male single parent is a pedophile…

Look, I’m not saying all Norsk feel this way, and i’m Sure these outdated beliefs are slowly changing…

My mate had many good experiences there and left with many friends… but he hated that he had to curb his sense of humour, watch what he said…

I stand by what I said… The op post in my screenshot doesn’t go against TOS. And Iggy did not answer the question, perhaps because he misread, or doesn’t know. Which is fine, but in that case say you don’t know…

The question was about a date for the XP-bug-fix, and Ignasis answer (basically “soon”) does show that he understood the question. He just did not have the answer the person that asked wanted, and thus had to answer in a way that is more vague than a fixed date.

You cannot construct a non-answer out of that, just omitting the part that does not fit your statement.

Ok if you say so… I guess he was just being lasy… :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Lazy lasy, this word annoys me… is it s or z… always gets me… it’s like the inventor of the word just said, take your pick I need a nap…
Yawwnzzzz, or was it yawwnssss…

Being a translator, communication and the art of understanding is kinda my thing.

From my point of view, Ignasis understood what was being asked, and replied to that question: the crafting exp bug fix is included in the Testlive patch, and that patch is going live, well, when it goes live. He couldn’t very well say “this week” or “next week” or “the day after tomorrow” because that would be promising to release the update on that day. All things considered, it was the best possible answer he could give to that specific question.

Now, from my point of view it would seem it wasn’t Ignasis who had trouble understanding what was being said, but the OP of this thread. But don’t worry, it happens to everyone (even professionals like me), water under the bridge.

If you have an issue with how someone is moderating or answering the forums then please take it up with them in a PM or any other staff member you want to contact about it. We’re always open to hear opinions on how we can improve.

I feel that the only reason this post was created, is to put someone on the spot and bullying them. There is zero reason to make a topic about this issue and yes, it is indeed against our Community Guidelines.

Bullying and Personal Insults
Picking on, or pointing out, others’ flaws is not constructive
“You obviously don’t speak english/lack reading comprehension/[insert personal attack here]”

Using “no offense but” is intentionally offending someone and is pretty clear bully behavior. No offense is completely negated by the use of “but”.

Regarding your claim that Ignasi didn’t answer the post: You are very welcome to send me a PM and I am happy to explain in detail why I completely agree with how Ignasi handled the reply in that case.
