except that armor penetration is a thing most players stack, which compounds the issue where light and medium armor are 100% the better choice in ANY PvP situation. Armor pen has negated the 1 benefit heavy armor arguably provides.

it’s not a nerf for PvP….it’s a nerf brought to you by the ONLY game mode that actually has any form of checks and balances. Players that only face AI don’t complain that the balance is being tilted ever more in their favor, and AI doesn’t get to post on the forums.

Only 67% in medium armor? Jeez that is bad for medium armor. I have 61% in light PvP gear. Here is the build:

IMO heavy is only viable in close quarters where you can abuse hyper armor from 2h swords or 2h hammers (or daggers).

Your post illustrates the point entirely: the increases in DR don’t warrant the loss of mobility. Apparently, the design thrust of this game is fast-action PvP. On our PC server I was telling @Cauthey last night that on the PS4 the claws make the game feel like a GTA Lobby; I mostly play in lights as it is, but the mash-fest kind of cinches it.

Well you use a medium helmet + armor plates. 67/68 with medium sounds like some flawless crafted stuff, but with Sobek its way more.

We’re aware that heavy armors aren’t as competitive as other alternatives. Balancing the game and its equipment is a complex task that we’re taking one step at a time. Although we cannot promise anything yet, be aware that we’re working on further balancing changes for the game.

That’s what all PvP players do. Medium helmet and rest light.

The armor plates give 15 armor which is like 1% more damage reduction. It is actually better to go advanced flexibility kits on all parts since you gonna climb a lot when raiding.

if you dont mind me asking, but how do you get 405 armor value? i summed things up and got 307 base armor value, 327 with reinf plates, and each point in agility gives you 2 armor ponts so thats 34 and thus the toal is 361.

You have mixed up many things.

Sobek head: 114, flawless darfari skin chest: 84 & bracers: 24. Then flawless zingarian pants: 61 & boots: 24 = 307.
Then each best armor plate gives +3 armor. 3x5 = 15 and it pumps up to 322 (you have 327?!) and each agility gives you +4 armor. 14*4 = 56.
So 378 armor in total. Why agility gives you +34 in your case (*2), I dont understand at all (14x2 would be 28).

But still 29points away from 407… Is there some base-default-armor value?

i guessed a had it messed up yeah, thought the plates gave +4 points and agility +2, so with the calculations done right we are still missing 29 points.
I’m not sure but could some fish give extra armour appart from the buffs?

It used to be 15 flat points in armor, but I don’t really know how it works nowadays…

The numbers you see on the screenshots are the ones the game calculated.

Btw it has to be 17*4 for the agility points (buff bonus), which is 68.

So 15 + the missing 12 is 27. Which will get you to 405 in total.
