The Newb river is pretty bad for over population. Have you had a look at the Mounds of the Dead yet.
I don’t know what the jungle in the East is like. I never looked that far. I started at the Newb River then worked my way North West to Stargazers Ridge. Saw lots of big builds on the way.
I agree with you. Perhaps @Heike should just look to join a different server. Although finding an Official server that isn’t saturated could be a big ask. One could file a report, but going by Funcoms apathetic “Customer Service” atm I wouldn’t hold my breath for a speedy reply.
Maybe the OP could look at joining a private server. There are some good ones out there.
Yeah Newb river is very bad, not impossible to find a spot though unless you want to expand then you may find it hard to find a spot with enough available space.
I also had a look in Mounds and surprisingly I didn’t find it too populated, yes there are a good amount of big bases, but enough space for a small base, at least in some areas there.
I never really looked at the jungle, so I cannot say how it looks, but Newb River and Sepermeru are among the worst I’ve seen.
Newb River is full of gigantic bases with bridges everywhere, underwater foundations, burried pillars to prevent players from building near them.
Worst of all is Sepermeru, it looks like Las Vegas with absolutely gigantic bases, Skyyscrapers, huge arenas and city like bases, all insanely decorated and lighted up with thousands of lights, the only reason you can see original nature in the distance is because pretty much all bases are so big that the view distance prevents them from spawning in, it is utterly insane there, something people have to see with their own eyes to understand how bad it is
I did manage to find a tiny spot a bit away from Sepermeru on a cliff edge between big bases where I managed to squeeze a small house in(roughly 6x8 tiles), but no matter what direction I try to expand in I run into conflict with another base.

However I would never ever really play and progress a character on this server, it is simply too overbuilt and I doubt it will do any good to start reporting since it is a lot of players all doing the same, so even though many of them clearly break the terms of conduct in several ways, there are just too many of them, best advice is to stay the hell away from server like this, scout a new server and start over, it simply isn’t worth the problems both with overbuilding but also really bad server performance
