Q: Can I play Conan Exiles on the machine that hosts my server?
A: It used to be possible (using the -nosteam command line option), but in the current state it seems that the Game Server steam integration is conflicting with the game itself.
Looking to possibly come back and play and host my own server! Is this still a thing? I used to run my game and my server on my own/same machine. Did it change to where you can’t anymore? What is the current status of this?
I always used version 1.0.41, I just configured version 1.0.45. Tomorrow I will start running this version 1.0.45 of the server. In the part of 64 thread I will be due the test for my CPU it only has 16 thread.
No change, if it did work two years ago, it should still work fine today.
The tool has new features, but it’s relatively backward compatible.
Thanks, the more people test the version, the safer it is for me to push it to official status.
In the worse case, you can revert back to the previous version, all the download links are still valid
While checking for something, I realized two things:
It’s been a while since I looked at the tab order of controls in the UI
The Script Runner selection box is not working as expected
Tab order is what makes the edit cursor move forward and backward when you use Tab or Shift+Tab, it makes it easier to navigate the UI with just the keyboard, and when tab order is broken, the cursor flies all around the UI without any apparent logic:
Regarding the bug fix: The “Backup and Automation” combo to select when to run the batch file was not actually working properly, I’m not sure what happened, but the variable used to define when to run the script was actually modified when the “Performance Priority” combo box value was changed.
Regarding the messaging new combo: You can select between “Broadcast”, which is the default block dialog box shown in game, or “server” which sends the message in the chat window instead - but this requires to have the Pippi mod installed (no idea what happens if you select “server” without Pippi).
I’ve already created a server before I found this tool. Is there a way to make the tool see my installation so I can begin managing it from there? Or do I have to reinstall the server and move the game save to the new installation?
Good afternoon.
I always used version 1.0.41, I put the game.db to run on version 1.0.45 today. A player complained that the inventory items that were with him disappeared, I went to close the server to do an automatic check and it was in a loop. I took the game.db back to version 1.0.41 and everything went well. I am now installing version 1.0.46. I will run version 1.0.46 starting this evening, when I have more players online to give me feedback.
The version of the server launcher has no relation with the gamedb, actually it does not even know what a gamedb file is but the tool is in charge of restarting the server, and it’s possible that for some reason the gamedb got corrupted - possibly a server crash or something - (that’s why there’s a backup feature, remember to set-it-up)
Server version 1.0.46 under test.
Without MOD Pippi the message option “server” cannot send a message to the global chat.
For those who have MOD Pippi like me, they are very happy .
Gratitude for the update .
Good morning, my server is scheduled to shut down at 3:30 am.
At 03:26 am the error below occurred, so for now it won’t be possible to know if it would restart as expected.
Below the error message follows my server screen, if you have any correction suggestions please let me know.
First, I want to thank you about your work, it is really great!
So, I encounter somes issues when I tried to configure the server yesterday. I did all the network configuration as tell and my port testing was positive so… All ready to go. But when I clicked on the big button to the bottom right, I’ve got a error message telling this:
Can’t find steamcmd.exe in C:\Users… change the folder location with -basefolder
I find the location (was in my downloads folder) and I found the steamcmd.exe… So I’ve tried to run the launcher as Admin… But the same error message popped-up again.
Can you help me about this ? Its reay annoying and I can’t host my server because of this…
Good morning, the executable “steamcmd.exe” must be located inside the folder “DedicatedServerLauncher”.
The location where you ran the “DedicatedServerLauncher1046” application must have created this “DedicatedServerLauncher” folder.
The ideal is to create a new folder, place this application “DedicatedServerLauncher1046” inside and run it from this location. Make the necessary settings on the panel and execute the button on the right in the form of a “floppy disk”
My server is in a main folder on disk C, but this is not required.
Hope this helps
Just to eliminate some unknown parameter, does that folder happens to have spaces in the access path?
Could you try to put the launcher in some other folder created somewhere, just to see if that work?
Never seen this error before, that it crash 4 minutes before the planned restart is kind of scary, but you can maybe check the Dedicated Server Launcher logs in the “logs” folder just under the executable, see in it if it looks like the process was about to be restarted.
Could even maybe be a crash triggered by the warning system for all I know, hard to say, the dev team would probably know if they received the crash report dump file.
Good evening.
This error just occurred on the server, I waited 02 minutes and it still stopeed.
Is there a time for the server to activate the check and restart?
